Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Michael Olise lead the way in 2026
Harry Kane and Michael Olise continued their sizzling form with a five-star performance against Bodø/Glimt in the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League as Bayern Munich's dynamic duo lead the way for goal contributions in Europe's top five leagues this calendar year.
Kane - assisted by Michael Olise - scored in his eighth Champions League game in a row to double Bayern’s tally with a powerful header after Jamal Musiala broke the deadlock shortly after the break. Alphonso Davies then added a third before Olise’s brace completed a 5-0 rout for Vincent Kompany’s charges.
With two goals and an assist on the night, it brings the Frenchman’s goal contributions to 32 (15 goals, 17 assists) in 2026, seven behind runaway leader Kane, who has registered 39 involvements (34 goals, five assists) - more than any other player from Europe's top five leagues in 2026.
Despite already having a catalogue of sensational strikes, Olise’s first of the night is up there as one of the 24-year-old’s best. Receiving the ball from Lennart Karl in the No.10 position, Bayern’s No.17 simply stroked the ball home into the top left corner from 25 yards.
When asked how he scores so many great goals, Olise, as cool as you like, told DAZN: “I shoot and it goes in.” Speaking further to UEFA after the final whistle, he praised his teammates, adding: “It's good [playing with this team]. We all know each other's movements, know how to play together. When it works, it's good and we're happy.”
Nominated for the Ballon d’Or alongside teammates Olise, Dayot Upamecano and Luis Díaz, Kane has continued where he left last campaign with three goals in five appearances across all competitions. “I'm proud to be nominated with my teammates. We won all three titles in Germany and fell just short in the Champions League,” he told UEFA. “It was a special season personally, but all I can do is focus on this season now.”
After being held to a 0-0 draw against newly promoted Schalke in the Bundesliga on Matchday 2, Bayern will be hoping to return to winning ways when they host leaders Elversberg - playing their maiden top flight campaign - on Sunday following their dazzling performance in Europe. “We’re a threat to any team,” added Kane. “Humble and hungry, but teams will have it tough against us with and without the ball.”
Kane, Olise, and Co. will look to add to their 2026 tally when they travel to Elversberg's URSAPHARM-Arena on 13 September.
