Five-star Bayern Munich sweep past Bodø/Glimt in UEFA Champions League opener
Bayern Munich thrashed Norwegian side Bodø/Glimt 5-0 to raise the curtain on their UEFA Champions League campaign in some style, with goals from Jamal Musiala, Harry Kane, Alphonso Davies and Michael Olise getting the Bavarians' quest for a seventh European crown off to a perfect start.

Following the goalless draw against Schalke at the weekend, Bayern head coach Vincent Kompany made three changes to his starting line-up, introducing Musiala, Olise and Kane into the side in place of Nathaniel Brown, Lennart Karl and Ismael Saibari in a selection that would ultimately prove hugely fruitful for his side.
Bayern controlled possession from the outset and created several early openings. Luis Díaz went close to opening the scoring in just the fifth minute, heading narrowly over the bar after latching onto a Joshua Kimmich cross.
Kimmich then struck the post himself in the 35th minute, and before Nikita Haikin produced a good stop to deny Bayern's No.6 once more before the interval. The half ended goalless, with the visitors defending proving difficult for Bayern to break down.
However, parity would not remain for long after the restart, as Bayern struck almost immediately through Musiala, who converted a tidy half-volley from close range in the 47th minute following a blocked Kane effort.
Kane himself then doubled the lead in the 61st minute, heading home from close range following an Olise free-kick. With the two-goal advantage established, Bayern had their tails up and further extended their lead through Davies, who found the net with an absolute rocket from the edge of the box in the 77th minute, after the visitors failed to clear their lines following a corner.
It was then Olise's turn to get in on the act, with the Frenchman adding a fourth in the 83rd minute, with an inch-perfect curling effort into the top left corner. After that, things went from bad to worse for Bodø as Odin Bjørtuft was sent off in the 87th minute for a foul on Olise as the last defender. Shortly after, Olise completed his brace with a fifth goal in stoppage time, pouncing on a loose ball out of the back from the visitors, to complete the rout.
Bayern, who remain unbeaten this season, visit Norway's Viking in their next Champions League fixture on 13 October.
