Derbystar unveils first official Supercup matchball
The first title of the season is up for grabs on Wednesday 30 September when Bayern Munich host Borussia Dortmund in the Supercup at the Allianz Arena, and for the first time in the history of the competition there will be an official matchball for the occasion.
The DERBYSTAR Supercup Brillant APS has gold and silver panels, in a nod to the colours of the Supercup trophy itself.
“The high-quality gold and silver design of the Supercup Brillant APS underlines the prestige of the Supercup,” said Joachim Böhmer, CEO of DERBYSTAR.
“We are very pleased that this model, which is technically identical to the current Bundesliga Brillant APS, is the first official matchball designed especially for the Supercup."
Fabian Gossen, marketing manager at DERBYSTAR, added: “The Supercup Brillant APS is a strictly limited edition. By manufacturing just 2,020 balls, we are giving it an additional exclusiveness, in addition to its high-quality appearance, which reflects that of the Supercup competition.”
