Dortmund's No.8 Felix Nmecha suffered a lateral collateral ligament injury in his knee during Die Schwarzgelben's last Bundesliga match against Hamburg, which led the midfielder to missing out on the Germany camp during the international break. The club has confirmed that Nmecha will be out for several weeks and is therefore unavailable to make the trip to Stuttgart.

With only one defeat from their last 14 Bundesliga games, Stuttgart are closing in on a return to UEFA Champions League football next season. Victory over Dortmund would not only cement their place in the top four but move them to within five points of their opponents in the standings.

Borussia a model of consistency

Dortmund's Klassiker loss to Bayern on 28 February remains their only defeat in their past 20 league encounters. Vincent Kompany's side may be nine points clear at the top of the standings, but Borussia are determined to finish the 2025/26 campaign with a flourish.
