HOFFENHEIM WIN!

How damaging a result will that be for Dortmund's title bid? They were in front and in control, but couldn't score a second goal to put the result beyond Hoffenheim's reach and were ultimately undone by a late one-two punch from the hosts.

UNDER WAY AGAIN!

Hoffenheim get the ball rolling in the second half.

JUST WIDE FROM BEBOU

It's route one stuff here from Hoffenheim as Baumann's long punt forward is superbly controlled by Bebou. He creates a pocket of space against Schulz and gets a shot away, but it flies just wide of the near post.
88'

FIVE MINUTES OF STOPPAGE TIME

Still plenty left on the clock for Dortmund to find an equaliser, although another Hoffenheim goal is more likely on recent evidence!

KRAMARIC TURNS THE GAME ON ITS HEAD!

This is brilliant from Kramaric. He plays the ball out to the left before darting back into the middle to meet the cross and guide a superb header into the bottom corner.

Andrej Kramarić
85'

SCHULZ IN SPACE... WIDE!

The former Hoffenheim left-back is wide open when he receives the ball in the left-hand side of the Hoffenheim area. But instead of shooting on his stronger left foot, he cuts onto his right and balzes wide.
84'

LAST THROW OF THE DICE FOR DORTMUND

Can Alcacer, who hit 12 goals as a substitute last season, do the business again here?
82'

SANCHO SO CLOSE!

It's the third such chance Dortmund have had in this game as Hakimi drills a low ball from the right across the face of goal. Sancho's sprinting in at the back post but there's just too much on the cross for him to get there in time.
79'

ADAMYAN LOVES A BIG GAME!

All three of Hoffenheim's substitute's combine for this goal as Kaderabek's cross from the right picks out Locadia at the back post. His attempted shot is smothered by Bürki, who can't quite hold onto the ball. It falls at the feet of Adamyan - who scored a brace when Hoffenheim beat Bayern Munich a few weeks ago - and the forward taps in from close range.

Sargis Adamyan
78'

KADERABEK COMES ON

All that running seems to have exacted its toll on Baumgartner, who has gone down with cramp in his calf. He's replaced by Pavel Kaderabek. Around 15 minutes (including stoppage time) left for Hoffenheim to get an equaliser.
75'

TIRELESS BAUMGARTNER

The Hoffenheim midfielder has just crossed the 10-kilometre mark (6.2 miles), and is the first player to reach that milestone in this game.
72'

WEIGL ALMOST IN

Lovely skill and vision from Sancho to keep the ball away from the defender while waiting for Weigl's run into the box. It's a fantastic pass, but Baumann has read it and darts off his line to get there just before Weigl can get a toe on it.
68'

AKANJI A WHISKER AWAY

Brandt picks out Sancho in a crowded Hoffenheim penalty area and the teenager instantly drills a ball across the face of goal. Akanji is unmarked at the back post, but it's just too strong for him to get a touch on it.
65'

ATTACKING CHANGE FROM HOFFENHEIM

Dennis Geiger is replaced in midfield by Jürgen Locadia, who has four Bundesliga goals this season, most recently against Augsburg on Matchday 15.
63'

HOSTS IN ASCENDANCY

Hoffenheim have had 58 per cent of possession so far in this half as they look to force an equaliser.
61'

SANCHO THREATENS

The 19-year-old dribbles into the box and tries to evade one final tackle before shooting, but is brought down - fairly - by a defender and Hoffenheim can clear.
59'

BETTER FROM HOFFENHEIM

The home team have increased the intensity over the past few minutes and are getting forward more purposefully now, particularly down the right wing. They've pinged in a few crosses into the box, but Dortmund have dealt with them well thus far.
55'

CLOSE FROM HAKIMI!

And no sooner have we said that than Hakimi charges clear down the right. He thunders into the box and aims a low shot at the far post, but doesn't quite get his angles right and it drifts wide of the post.
55'

LITTLE BIT SCRAPPY

Both teams are keeping the ball well in midfield, but can't quite find the final pass yet.
50'

DORTMUND MUST SCORE... BUT NO!

Sancho has the ball inside the box and cuts onto his right foot. He could shoot but instead opts for a pass to Brandt, who's completely unmarked. There's only Baumann to beat, but the Hoffenheim keeper pulls off a BIG save to keep his side in the game.
47'

SUBS GALORE!

Dortmund have made two changes at the break, with Lukasz Piszczek taking over the captain’s armband from Mats Hummels, who has likely gone off injured with the wrist complaint he sustained in the first half. Elsewhere, Jacob Bruun Larsen has replaced Hazard in attack, while Hoffenheim have made an attacking change of their own: Sargis Adamyan has replaced Samassekou.

NARROW LEAD AT THE BREAK

Dortmund got off to the better start and deservedly took the lead through Götze's delicate finish. Clear chances have been at a premium at both ends, although both sides have hit the woodwork with long-distance strikes. Hoffenheim improved as half-time approached, but can't really have any complaints about being behind at the interval.

NORDTVEIT BLOCKS GÖTZE

Hoffenheim struggle to clear a corner and eventually the ball is worked to Götze at the far post. It loops up nicely for him to strike it on the volley, but Nordtveit throws his body in the way to block for another corner.
42'

INVITING CROSS FROM BEBOU

The Hoffenheim forward jiinks past Schulz and just has enough time to ping a cross into the middle from the right. Kramaric is moving towards it, but Hummels is alive to the danger and sticks out a leg to make a good interception.
39'

HAZARD HITS THE BAR

The Belgian is allowed time to line up a shot from the right-hand edge of the penalty area. It's fizzing towards the top corner, but Baumann gets a fingertip to it and nudges it onto the bar and out for a corner. A terrific shot, and an equally terrific save.
36'

TIRELESS PRESSING FROM DORTMUND

A hoarde of yellow shirts surround the Hoffenheim players whenever they're on the ball, keeping them well away from Bürki's box. There's simply no way through.
33'

HOFFENHEIM FROM DISTANCE

The home side have struggled to get in behind their visitors so far today and have managed just four efforts on goal so far, three of which have come form outside the box.
26'

SKOV HITS THE BAR!

It's a swerving, long-range free-kick from Skov that beats Bürki's dive, but crashes down off the crossbar before being cleared. That's by far Hoffenheim's best effort of the game.
24'

BVB DOMINANT

Lucien Favre's men have had 57 per cent of possession and won 55 per cent of all tackles so far, so are good value for their lead.
21'

FIRST AWAY GOAL SINCE APRIL FOR GÖTZE

His last effort on the road came in the 4-0 triumph in Freiburg in April this year. Hs four Bundesliga goals in the meantime had all come on home turf.
18'

WIDE FROM SANCHO

The England international tears away from his marker down the left, cuts inside and does everything right... except for his shot, which he scuffs well wide of the target.
18'

DORTMUND PLAYING WITH 10

The visitors are down to 10 men, temporarily at least, as Hummels receives treatment on his wrist, which he injured when going up for the corner a couple of minutes ago. He's ok to continue playing though.
17'

Mario Götze

LOVELY GOAL FROM DORTMUND

This is a textbook counter-attack as Dortmund work the ball forward quickly after Zagadou intercepted a pass in defence. Eventually Hazard plays in Hakimi down the right with a pass inside the defender and the Moroccan's cross is flicked over the line by Götze.
15'

OVER FROM HUMMELS

Hazard swings in a corner from the left and Hummels is first to it, under pressure from a huddle of defenders and goalkeeper Baumann. He gets a decent header on the ball but it sails over the bar.
12'

INCREDIBLE PASS FROM BRANDT

The Germany international plays a brilliantly disguised pass through the Hoffenheim defence, splitting four defenders to pick out Götze's run. Götze gets to the ball ahead of Baumann, but is flagged for offside, which is a shame, as the pass was worth a goal all by itself.
9'

BRILLIANT FROM HAKIMI

A neat one-two on the right wing and suddenly Hakimi is away, his pace taking him away from his marker and into space. He gets to the byline and pulls the ball across the face of goal, but it's just too strong for Götze, who's charging in.
5'

RUDY AT RIGHT-BACK

Normally an accomplished central midfielder, Sebastian Rudy has started at right-back for the hosts here. The last time he played in the position was also for Hoffenheim on 20 September 2016 in a 1-1 draw away to Darmstadt.
3'

CHANCE FOR BEBOU!

The Hoffenheim forward peels away from Zagadou and collects a long ball forward. Suddenly he's bearing down on goal with just Bürki to beat. Hummels makes a last-gasp lunge to put him off and Bebou's strike is well saved by Bürki. It turns out a goal wouldn't have counted anyway, as the flag was raised for offside.
3'

DORTMUND ON TOP

The hosts have had the brighter start so far and are pushing high up the pitch. The Hoffenheim defence is standing firm, though.

THE STAKES

Dortmund will be keen to keep pace at the top and can move to within a point of leaders Leipzig - for 24 hours at least - with a win here. Hoffenheim, meanwhile, are out to give their own hopes of European qualification a boost as they seek to pull themselves up from mid-table.

TRICKY VENUE FOR DORTMUND

BVB might hold the advantage in this fixture historically, with eight wins, nine draws and five defeats in 22 Bundesliga meetings so far, but they have not won at Hoffenheim in their last six visits (five draws, one defeat). Dortmund's last taste of victory in Sinsheim was almost exactly seven years ago, when they earned a 3-1 triumph on 16 December 2012. Incidentally, a certain Mario Götze opened the scorinng that day.

FIRST START IN A YEAR FOR NORDTVEIT

The Norwegian's last outing in the first XI was on 24 November 2018 in a 3-3 draw away to Hertha Berlin, while it's teammate Baumgartner's first start since Matchday 6.

HOFFENHEIM TEAM NEWS

Captain Kevin Vogt returns to the squad here, albeit on the bench alongside fellow centre-back Ermin Bicakcic, while Havard Nordtveit accompanies Benjamin Hübner in central defence. Up top, Andrej Kramaric leads the line as expected.

DORTMUND TEAM NEWS

It's largely as expected from Lucien Favre, although Mario Götze gets the nod in attack ahead of Paco Alcacer, with captain Marco Reus absent through injury. Meanwhile, Nico Schulz plays wide on the left instead of Raphael Guerreiro.

HOFFENHEIM STARTING LINE-UP:

Baumann - Rudy, Nordtveit, Hübner (c), Skov - Grillitsch - Bebou, Samassekou, Geiger, Baumgartner - Kramaric
