Familiar face

Erencan Yardımcı scored in both of Braunschweig's wins over Kaiserslautern last season, before joining the Red Devils in the summer. The 24-year-old has one goal in four league games so far this term.

Old flame

Kaiserslautern boss Torsten Lieberknecht spent 15 years at Braunschweig as a player, U19 coach and head coach, helping shape an era at the club. He led Braunschweig from the third tier to the Bundesliga, with the two promotions followed by two relegations and a tearful farewell in 2018 for a man who had long been the face of the club.

Eintracht have won each of their last three meetings with Kaiserslautern 2-0 and have gone 315 minutes without conceding against the Palatinate side. Kaiserslautern's last victory over Braunschweig came in November 2024 (3-2 at home).

Tradition

Kaiserslautern and Braunschweig are former German champions and founding members of the Bundesliga. They spent 20 seasons together in the top flight, but their last Bundesliga meeting came more than 41 years ago, when Eintracht won 2-1 at home on 3 May 1985.
