No need to panic yet

Over now 63 seasons of Bundesliga football, Gladbach are the 41st team to be winless after Matchday 8. The longest wait for a first win of the campaign was set by Nuremberg in 2013/14, who finally picked up a victory on Matchday 18. The Foals’ haul of three points from eight games is also by no means the lowest in history, with several teams having posted a solitary point down the years. The record for fewest wins over an entire Bundesliga season, meanwhile, stands at two by Tasmania Berlin in 1965/66 and Wuppertal in 1974/75.

Gladbach's worst ever start

Gladbach have failed to win in their first eight Bundesliga games for the first time ever, and the three points they have so far this season represent their worst-ever start to a campaign. Eugen Polanski is also the first Gladbach coach since the club's first promotion to the Bundesliga in 1965 not to win any of his first five competitive matches with the Foals.

A winter team?

Gladbach failed to win a single Bundesliga game during the summer daylight saving period and are currently on a club-record 15-game run without winning. Perhaps the winter months will provide a change in fortune for the Foals.

Pauli's goalscoring troubles

The hosts have failed to score in their last three Bundesliga games, last scoring in the 32nd minute in the 2-1 home loss against Leverkusen. That is a total of 328 minutes without a goal.
