Watch: Kovač: "Not enough"

Dortmund coach Niko Kovač spoke to bundesliga.com after his side's 2-0 defeat in Bochum on Matchday 22.
camera-photo

Full-time: Bochum 2-0 Dortmund

Bochum peel themselves provisionally off the bottom of the table with an incredible 2-0 win over Dortmund, which came thanks to a quick-fire brace from recent loan arrival Georgios Masouras. Worrying defensive frailties were on display from Niko Kovač's BVB ahead of their Champions League play-off return leg against Sporting, but nothing should be taken away from Bochum's courageous performance, which suggests that the fight to beat the drop will go all the way to wire.

Time to turn it around

A convincing UEFA Champions League win in midweek was just what the doctor ordered as far as Dortmund are concerned. They're now looking to earn a first league win under Kovač and Bochum represent their best bet at doing so. The home side are rock bottom on 11 points, with just two Bundesliga victories all season.
camera-photo

Niko Kovač's thoughts on Bochum

"Bochum are fighting to stay in the league and they need the points. The lads clearly need to know what to expect. That means, first and foremost, winning our duels. We have to take the initiative and we have to accept how they'll play in order to be able to leave the pitch as winners in the end."
camera-photo

Dieter Hecking on facing Dortmund

"We know that Borussia Dortmund has a high-quality squad. In the league this season, they haven't been able to consistently call on this quality. That's the problem with BVB at the moment, that you don't know exactly what you're going to get. They have great quality, speed and variation, especially in attack."
camera-photo

Guirassy aiming for double-double

With nine goals in 18 Bundesliga matches - on top of his impressive ten in nine Champions League outings - Serhou Guirassy is Dortmund's top goalscorer this term. However, he has managed just one Bundesliga brace, which came against Bochum in the 4-2 triumph earlier this season.

Turning the tide

Kovač must get Dortmund back on track after a disappointing season so far. They have already lost more this term in the Bundesliga (eight games) than last season (7), while the last time they shipped more than 36 times after 21 matches was in 1985/86.

Bochum without Wittek

Like Ryerson, Maximilian Wittek is suspended for Dortmund's visit. Unfortunately for the hosts, Myron Boadu, who scored twice against Kiel on Matchday 21, is also out with a muscular issue. Georgios Masouras, meanwhile, could be available after suffering an injury in that past clash.
