Hats off to Leipzig
Marco Rose's men have performed admirably here. Considering the amount of ins and high-profile outs at the club over the summer, Die Roten Bullen have pinged it about and taken their chances brilliantly. They'll be a force to be reckoned with once again this season.
90'
Sesko again
Another shot from the 20-year-old. This one is dragged wide of the near post.
89'
Sesko chance
Carvalho plays Sesko in and the Slovenian forward is away. He batters a shot goalwards and Ulreich manages to get something on it to deflect the ball wide. Huge chance.
86'
Bayern's bad memories
Of course, Bayern's last official home game was also against Leipzig at the tail end of last season. The defending champions lost that 3-1. The last time FCB suffered two home defeats in a row with a total of six goals conceded was more than 22 years ago under Ottmar Hitzfeld.
81'
Mazraoui goes close
Gnabry's corner loops all the way over the Leipzig defenders towards the far post, where Mazraoui bends before nodding into the side netting. The Bayern fans thought that was in for a second.

Bayern swap
Leon Goretzka comes on for Bayern and takes over captain duties from the departing Joshua Kimmich.

Kane comes in
Ladies and gentlemen, Harry Kane is on. The roars go up around the Allianz Arena as the stadium announcer shouts out: "It's a magical moment." A tremendous welcome for Bayern's new No.9. Tel is the player to make way.
59'
Bayern again
Tel thwacks a low shot at the target from the left and Blaswich gets down to save. The loose ball is attacked by Musiala but Orban gets his body in there first and clears. Here comes Harry ....

A long passage of possession for Bayern ends with Mazraoui poking a pass in for Musiala, who scoops a shot high over the crossbar.

Chances aplenty
Here come Bayern now. Gnabry has the ball on the left and he rolls across the face for Tel, who stalls his run slightly and then looks to connect on the slide. The pass just evades the Bayern forward.
49'
Raum waste
Leipzig break and the majestic Olmo releases Werner who in turn finds Raum. The full back has time to pick out someone in the middle but he delays a little too much and Bayern get the block in.
48'
Sane magic
Sane works his way across the face of goal before sending a zinger fizzing just past the far post.

Bayern start quickly
Coman dinks a tasty pass in for Gnabry who is in front of goal, but has Raum in close attendance. Raum makes a crucial intervention.

A Dani Olmo double has Leipzig in control at the break and the visitors are on course to lift the Supercup at this point. Bayern do have a certain Harry Kane on the bench, however, so anything could yet happen.

Upamecano saves Bayern
Simons and Openda combine wonderfully and this looks very dangerous. Upamecano comes sliding in at the last second to deny Leipzig a shot on goal from close range.

De Ligt frustration
Davies plays a high ball in for De Ligt but the defender is muscled off it and the chance is gone. The Allianz Arena has gone pretty quiet.

Olmo cracker
Well, well, well! What a goal Dani Olmo! Free kick for Leipzig in midfield and the ball makes its way to Werner. He pokes a pass forward to Olmo, who has his back to goal. The Spain international pulls off the most audacious spin and control to leave two defenders for dead and applies a through-the-legs finish on Ulreich. That was brilliant!

Upamecano wallops Werner from behind and that's going to be a booking for the defender. Raum's subsequent free kick comes to nothing.

Bayern searching
Pavard's set-piece just evades Gnabry at the far post with Henrichs doing his best to put the Bayern man off.
32'
Super Sane
Lovely ball over the top from Simons towards Werner, who lights up the afterburners in an attempt to get away from Sane. The latter sticks with his man all the way and Werner can't get any purchase on the ball, allowing Ulreich to claim. Superb tracking from Sane there. Werner was more than a little surprised to have been able to shake off his marker.

Visitors survive
Bayern go agonisingly close to equalising. The set piece causes confusion inside the Leipzig area and the ball hits Simakan before nipping against the outside of the post.

Great work by Gnabry who gets to the touchline on the left and cuts back for Tel. The French forward wallops a shot high over the crossbar. The striker won't want to see that again in a hurry.

Olmo in good company
In the history of the Supercup, only Vladimir Beschastnykh scored an earlier goal than Olmo managed here. Beschastnykh netted the competition's fastest goal for Werder Bremen against Bayern at the Olympic Stadium in Munich in 1994.
8'
Almost Gnabry
Kimmich picks out Bayern's No. 7 with a slick through pass. Gnabry opens his body and shoots low, but he hasn't caught that and Ulreich can get down to save with relative ease. That was Bayern's best chance thus far.

Home fans rousing
Bayern's supporters are doing their best to lift their team, who are under siege here from a Leipzig side intent on not letting the hosts settle.

Leipzig quick off the mark

Leipzig lead!
Scenes! Raum's ball in from the left towards the near post causes consternation in the Bayern area. It comes off Henrichs and breaks for Olmo who side-foots into the far corner.

Leipzig sharp
The visitors are straight out, snapping at the heels of Bayern. Olmo robs Kimmich and immediately feeds Openda who has a decent sight of goal here. The forward scuffs his shot and Ulreich can save easily.

Bayern absentees
As we await the appearance of both sides here it's worth remembering that the hosts are without some big names tonight. New signing from Dortmund, Raphaël Guerreiro, is out with a calf injury while Manuel Neuer continues his recovery from a leg break. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting (knee) and Thomas Müller (hip) will play no part.

Hello Harry
Big changes in Leipzig
As many as six of the players who started for Leipzig in last May's Bundesliga win at the Allianz Arena are no longer around. Gvardiol, Halstenberg, Laimer, Szoboszlai, Nkunku and Silva have all since parted Saxony so it will be fascinating to see how Marco Rose's side gel tonight. Those who are present in the starting line-up tonight who competed in the aforementioned Bundesliga game are Blaswich, Simakan, Orban and Olmo.

Solid pre-season
Bayern won four of their five friendly games as they prepared for the defence of their Bundesliga title over the summer. Those victories, combined with some intensive work on the training pitch, led coach Tuchel to reveal, "There's been a good spirit and high quality in training for several weeks." No doubt those spirits will have been lifted even further with the arrival of a certain new star striker at Säbener Straße.

'Red against Racism'

Time to buck the trend?
Of the 23 official Supercup matches that have been held, the defending Bundesliga champions have won 15 times. The DFB Cup winners (or beaten finalists or league runners-up, in the cases that a team won the double) have won on eight occasions - but not since 2015, when Wolfsburg overcame Bayern on penalties.
Head-to-head
In the seven Bundesliga seasons these teams have shared to date, Bayern have had the upper hand overall in terms of results. There have been 17 competitive meetings, of which Leipzig have won two, drawn six and lost nine.

The Supercup explained
The Supercup is the traditional curtain-raiser on the domestic season in Germany as the Bundesliga champions take on the DFB Cup holders. It previously existed between 1987 and 1996, but was organised by the DFB (German FA). It was then replaced by the Ligapokal (League Cup) until the DFL re-introduced the Supercup in 2010. The most successful team in the competition is Bayern with 10 titles, while Leipzig - runners-up in 2022 - are the 13th different club to compete for the prize.
