BARMY FINISH!

Three goals in the final four minutes as Leipzig run out deserved winners. Kevin Kampl made the points safe with Leipzig's third after being set free by Werner. The excellent Werner added his second with a close-range finish from Konrad Laimer, before Davie Selke grabbed a consolation against his former club. Leipzig clinical and workmanlike - Nagelsmann's boys move up to second.

PATCHWORK LEIPZIG

Nordi Mukiele appears to have picked up a knock. That's a worry for Julian Nagelsmann, with Willi Orban, Ibrahima Konate and Marcel Halstenberg already on the sidelines. Chelsea-owned teenager Ethan Ampadu comes on.

ALL-OUT ATTACK?

Big statement from Ante Covic as striker Davie Selke replaces defender Davie Selke for Hertha.
78'

NKUNKU!

Almost an immediate impact from Christopher Nkunku. The Frenchman takes on a floated cross first time, but side-foots wide. A bit more composure, and Leipzig would surely be three up.
74'

CH-CH-CH-CHANGES

Emil Forsberg has been quiet by his standards, so the fleet-footed Christopher Nkunku is a logical choice with Hertha chasing the game. Vedad Ibisevic is on for the hosts, providing the Old Lady with more of a target man in the Leipzig box. Marius Wolf makes way.
66'

BETTER FROM HERTHA

Lukas Klünter advances with the ball, before cutting in off the right and whipping a ball into the box for Marius Wolf. The Borussia Dortmund loanee crosses on the turn, but only succeeds in finding the feet of Leipzig substitute Kevin Kampl.

LEIPZIG IN CONTROL

Leipzig are not creating a great deal by way of scoring chances, but Julian Nagelsmann's side are controlling the play. Can't be long before Ante Covic rolls the dice. Vedad Ibisevic and Salomon Kalou are among the Hertha substitutes...

WERNER THE WINGER

Timo Werner has looked menacing whenever he has been on the ball in the final third. Working his magic out on the left, he crosses for Yussuf Pouisen, but Hertha survive.

TALKING TACTICS

Kevin Kampl is on for Leipzig, who appear to have gone to a three-man defence made up of Lukas Klostermann, Dayot Upamecano and Konrad Laimer. Stefan Ilsanker, who was on a yellow card, makes way.

SABITZER!

Leipzig's Mr. Consistent puts Leipzig ahead for the first time. Emil Forsberg plays in Yussuf Poulsen, who cuts it back for Sabitzer. The Austrian's first-time strike takes a huge deflection off Karim Rekik, completely wrong-footing Rune Jarstein, who can only watch the ball whistle into the opposite corner. What a turnaround!

LEIPZIG COME AGAIN

Hertha are on the ropes as the ball is played into the box at the feet of Poulsen. The Dane shifts the ball out wide to Nordi Mukiele, whose Werner-bound pass is put behind by Darida. Crucial intervention, that!

WHO ELSE BUT WERNER?!

Timo Werner waits and waits to see which way Jarstein is going, before thrashing the ball into the opposite corner. The perfect penalty, and Leipzig are level. Werner's now scored six goals in his last three starts...

VAR REVIEW

The referee heads over to the pitch-side monitor to review a possible handball against Karim Rekik from Nordi Mukiele in the Hertha box. He takes one look, and points straight to the penalty spot.

MITTELSTÄDT STUNNER!

Hertha break the deadlock, and it's an absolute rocket! Dodi Lukebakio does really well to retian possession in the middle of the park before shifting the ball inside for the run of Maxi Mittelstädt. The Leipzig players back off, seemingly happy to show him onto his right foot - big mistake! The Hertha left-sider smashes a fierce effort into the bottom corner from a good 18 yards to give the hosts the lead.

WERNER-POULSEN COMBO

Brilliantly effective interchange from Timo Werner and Yussuf Poulsen, but the former's eventual effort is blocked in front of goal by Karim Rekik. Huge let-off for Hertha.

DILROSUN, DILROSUN...

... still Dilrosun, he's still going - but his strike sails high and wide. Nice idea - Roben-esque coming in off the right-hand side.
16'

DARIDA CHANCE!

Hertha's set-up suggested they'd play on the counter, and the approach almost pays dividends. Dodi Lukebakio pings a ball over the top of the Leipzig defence for the run of Vladimir Darida. The Czech midfielder bursts into the Leipzig box, but Stefan Ilsanker is breathing down his neck and the final shot lacks the conviction to seriously trouble Peter Gulacsi.
8'

POULSEN HEADER!

Emil Forsberg floats the ensuing corner onto the head of Yussuf Poulsen, whose near-post header is well saved by Jarstein. The Leipzig striker scored a hat-trick against Hertha back in March - from just four shots on goal at that. There's one...

SABITZER ON THE PROWL

Now it's Marcel Sabitzer doing the damage for Leipzig on the right. The Austrian skips clear and crosses for Timo Werner, but Dedryck Boyata gets there first and puts the ball behind for a corner.

WERNER THREAT

Timo Werner shuffles past Lukas Klünter - no mean feat, given that the Hertha man was the fastest player in the Bundesliga last season - but his low cross is taken well by Rune Jarstein.

TIFO-RIFIC!

Berlin fans with a moving pre-match Tifo prior to the game, commerating the fall of the Berlin Wall. Hertha are in those retro white shirts, complete with Berlin bear; Leipzig are in their change strip of all red.

INDIAN SIGN

Leipzig coach Julian Nagelsmann is yet to lose in seven meetings with Hertha. The 32-year-old oversaw four wins and three draws against the Old Lady whilst at the Hoffenheim helm.

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME

There's roughly 120 miles as the crow the flies between the cities of Berlin and Leipzig, but Hertha must be wishing there was more distance between them. Leipzig have won their last three away games in the capital by an aggregate score of 13-3. Must be the Saxony air carried on that northeasterly breeze...

KLINSI IN ATTENDANCE

Former Germany, Bayern Munich and USMNT coach Jürgen Klinsmann will make his first public appearance since being appointed to Hertha's supervisory board. "I'm delighted to become part of the most exciting football project in Europe," Klinsmann told the club's official website. "Furthermore, it's a club I'm emotionally invested in." Klinsmann has long been an honourary member of the club, while his son, Jonathan, played for Hertha between 2017 and 2019, and his father, Siegfried, grew up in the German capital. "I'm convinced that I can help make this a successful partnership with my experience and also with my network," the 55-year-old added.

MORE ON THE LEIPZIG TEAM

Julian Nagelsmann's hand has been forced by injuries to defensive trio Willi Orban, Ibrahima Konate and Marcel Halstenberg. Marcelo Saracchi also misses out with the flu, so Nordi Mukiele, Lukas Klostermann and Stefan Ilsanker join Dayot Upamecano in a makeshift back four. Kevin Kampl drops to the bench, with Konrad Laimer lining up alongside stand-in skipper Diego Demme in central midfield. Emil Forsberg is prefered to Christopher Nkunku, while Timo Werner - with five goals and as many assists across his previous two starts - resumes his partnership with Yussuf Poulsen in attack.

MORE ON THE HERTHA TEAM

Hertha coach Ante Covic makes three changes to the side that lost the Bundesliga's first-ever Berlin derby to city neighbours Union last weekend. Karim Rekik comes into the defence, while Eduard Löwen and Vladimir Darida start in midfield. Dodi Lukebakio, who was deployed out wide left against Union, is preferred to captain Vedad Ibisevic in the lone striker's role. Ibisevic and Marko Grujic drop to the bench, but Per Skeljbred misses out altogether due to injury.

THIRTY YEARS ON

Today marks the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, the most powerful symbol of the Cold War. The 96-mile structure stood, in various guises, for over 28 years, dividing people, families, a city and a nation.  At least 140 people were killed or died at the Wall, trying to flee the former German Democratic Republic - a satellite state of the Soviet Union. The Wall - a physical and ideological barrier - fell on 9 November 1989 and paved the way for German reunification. Hertha Berlin played just two days after the fall of the Wall in a game against Wattenscheid, enjoyed by fans on both sides of the former divide. The Old Lady will today wear the same white shirt embellished with the city's symbol, the Berlin bear, as they did all those years ago. Further pre-match commerations are expected...
