Full-time: Nuremberg 0-3 Hertha BSC

Hertha deliver a spotless away performance in Nuremberg and scored each of the goals for the 3-0 victory at just the right times. After the early lead through Winkler, Cuisance added the 2-0 shortly before half-time. Substitute Kownacki, who later had to be substituted due to injury, sealed the deal with his strike shortly before the final whistle. For Hertha, it's another 3-0 win on the road.

Worrying signs

For Hertha, Kownacki is down on the ground. His right foot has been hurt and the scorer of the third has to be carried off the pitch with support. That doesn't look good. Krattenmacher comes on as a substitute for these final minutes.

The referee allows play to continue and awards a corner to the home side.

Strong performance

Cuisance has had a positive game so far, and not just because of his goal. In eleven situations under pressure, the Frenchman has almost always found a solution.
54'

Leitl is not happy with that

The Hertha manager sees a foul directly in front of his technical area and protests. The referee deems his behaviour to be excessive and shows him a yellow card.
52'

The crowd loved that

22'

Shot with power!

Gechter gets the ball on the right side of the box, takes it past two opponents with his chest and then blasts the ball with his right foot just wide of the left post, a chance gone for Hertha to double the advantage.

Tight affair

After conceding the early goal, Nuremberg are looking better and had a great chance to equalise through Zoma. Both teams are putting in a lot of effort at the Max-Morlock-Stadion so far.
18'

Unbelievable!

That should have been the equaliser! The corner is unfortunately flicked on at the near post by Reese to the far post, where Zoma reacts quicker than Leistner but fails to put the ball into the net from point blank range! The Nuremberg player strikes the ball parallel to the goal line back into the middle and can't believe how he's done that.

Applying Pressure

15'

Big chance for Nuremberg!

The home side shake themselves off after the big chance for the visitors and have their first shot of the match through Becker. Ernst gathers the long-range effort at the second attempt.
8'

Huge chance for the second!

Hertha play it clean and quick through Reese, who is sent on his way down the left and delivers a low cross into the middle, where Grönning reaches the ball with a stretch but can't put it into the back of the net.
7'

Nuremberg fighting

Klose's side are trying to respond, but this early deficit is still causing the home side considerable trouble at the moment.
5'

Success away from home

With his second goal of the season, Winkler has already matched his tally for 2024/25. The 22-year-old also netted the opener in Hertha's last away tie at Hannover.

The visitors are looking sharp and alert to danger. Zeefuik and Cuisance were key in recovering the ball in midfield before Winkler's opener.

Stefan Leitl on facing Nuremberg

"We expect an opponent who wants to carry the energy from their victory against Bochum, an aggressive team that plays forward and has good players in their ranks. We need to bring our performance and activity as a team onto the pitch. Then we are convinced that we can get points in Nuremberg. Our own performance must be the priority."
