Everything under control
Hertha continue to play forward and keep the ball far away from their own goal as they head towards the full-time whistle.

The ball is in the net! But!
Gechter heads the following free-kick cross wonderfully into the goal, but is whistled back by the referee. The official decides on an offensive foul by the Berliner, let off for Nuremberg on that one.

Stoppage time
Eight minutes of additional time at the Max-Morlock-Stadion has been announced.
90'
Worrying signs
For Hertha, Kownacki is down on the ground. His right foot has been hurt and the scorer of the third has to be carried off the pitch with support. That doesn't look good. Krattenmacher comes on as a substitute for these final minutes.
87'
Iron Head
Leistner clears a powerful long-range shot from Stepanov with his forehead. The Hertha man has been rock solid today.
85'
That's the decider! Kownacki seals it!
Hertha finally put the lid on the game and it's the substitute Kownacki who scores a beautiful goal to make it 3-0. Perfectly sent through by Reese with a through ball, the striker finds the far corner with a composed right-footed finish, leaving Reichert helpless.
84'
Ernst gathers securely!
The home side combine their way into the Hertha box and the ball falls perfectly for Grimaldi, who can shoot from twelve metres out, but is blocked. The ball trickles into Ernst's arms.
82'
Cuisance's race is run
Am impressive afternoon for the Frenchman, as he makes way for youngster Mamuzah Lum.
80'
Another chance goes begging!
The home side play forward cleverly. Justvan sends Stepanov into the penalty area and from a very tight angle the Ukrainian chips the ball onto the outside of the net. Two teammates were unmarked in the middle.
79'
Into the side netting!
After a cross from the free-kick, Kownacki lays it across in the penalty area to Gechter and the full-back hammers the ball against the side netting on the right.
78'
Drexler has no choice
The Nuremberg defender has to pull out all the stops in the foot race with Kownacki and brings the Hertha player down. The yellow card was inevtiable.
75'
Fierce exchanges
Zeefuik and Zoma engage in a bone-crunching duel about 30 metres in front of the Hertha goal. Both end up on the ground and play continues. The home side maintain their offensive push and Zoma drives with the ball into the penalty area, but then catches Dárdai in the face with his hand. The referee allows play to continue and awards a corner to the home side.
74'
A Rabona on show
Becker tries to serve his teammate with a rabona pass behind his standing leg. It looks nice, but doesn't yield anything for his team.
72'
Two up front now for Nuremberg
Grimadli and Stepanov are now working side by side in the attacking line as Klose's side aim to pull one back at the very least.
70'
Pause for changes
Lochoshvili is down after a challenge and is led off the pitch by the medical staff. Demba Diop is also leaving the field. Grimaldi and Janisch are the replacements.

Chance for Kownacki!
The subsequent corner is headed dangerously towards goal by the substitute, but the ball is cleared off the line. Hertha then have two follow-up chances. However, both Winkler and Gechter's shots are blocked!
64'
Reese hustling
The Hertha captain wins a corner and gives his team a brief respite from their defensive duties.
63'
Leitl rings the changes
The visitors make a change, Leitl clearly unhappy with the proceedings so far in the second period. Kownacki and Jensen come on.
61'
So close again!
Yilmaz delivers a perfect low cross from the left to the far post, where Justvan and Zoma just narrowly miss it. The home side are getting closer to getting one back with each passing minute.
60'
Rough and tumble
Dárdai halts a counter-attack attempt against Justvan with a tactical foul.
58'
Late tackle penalised
Eichhorn is late in the challenge at the centre circle and receives a yellow card.
56'
Nuremberg upping the pressure
The home side are now investing more and are pinning Hertha back in their own half. Crosses are flying through the Hertha penalty area, but from the home side's perspective, they still lack that final spark.

Strong performance
Cuisance has had a positive game so far, and not just because of his goal. In eleven situations under pressure, the Frenchman has almost always found a solution.
54'
Leitl is not happy with that
The Hertha manager sees a foul directly in front of his technical area and protests. The referee deems his behaviour to be excessive and shows him a yellow card.
52'
That was swerving!
Stepanov is now showing his qualities and delivers an uncomfortable swerving shot towards Ernst's goal from the left. The Hertha keeper only gathers the ball at the second attempt.
50'
So close!
Yilmaz runs with the ball on the left into touch, he wants to continue playing, but is whistled back. Frustration spreads in the home team's camp. The will is there, but the match is not going at all according to Klose and his staff's ideas.
48'
Hertha want more
The visitors want to add a third goal early on and attack down the left once again, from where a cross dangerously sails into the six-yard box. In the end, Reichert and co. are fortunate that no Hertha player gets to the ball.
46'
We go again!
We are underway for the second 45 at the Max-Morlock Stadion.

Both teams are giving no quarter in their challenges. Markhiev is caught roughly by Dárdai in a sliding tackle and requires treatment. Earlier, Eichhorn was cleaned out.

Will it all click for Nuremberg today?
The home side have lost all of their first four matches of the season when they've conceded first. As it stands, they seem likely to equalise before half-time. However, Hertha remain dangerous on the break.
31'
Headed clearance
40 metres in front of his own goal, Reichert skilfully clears a counter-attack attempt by the visitors with a header.

The crowd loved that
Drexler makes a skilful sliding tackle against Zeefuik in his own penalty area and even wins a goal kick in the process. That earns applause from the stands for the Nuremberg defender.
22'
Shot with power!
Gechter gets the ball on the right side of the box, takes it past two opponents with his chest and then blasts the ball with his right foot just wide of the left post, a chance gone for Hertha to double the advantage.

Unbelievable!
That should have been the equaliser! The corner is unfortunately flicked on at the near post by Reese to the far post, where Zoma reacts quicker than Leistner but fails to put the ball into the net from point blank range! The Nuremberg player strikes the ball parallel to the goal line back into the middle and can't believe how he's done that.
17'
Applying Pressure
Klose's side are now seeing significantly more of the play and are pushing Hertha back into their own penalty area. There's another corner - this time from the left.
15'
Big chance for Nuremberg!
After a scramble, Drexler gets the ball, cuts inside and shoots with his left foot from the right corner of the six-yard box. His shot is deflected over Ernst's goal. The resultant corner is cleared well by the Hertha defence.
10'
Becker has a go
The home side shake themselves off after the big chance for the visitors and have their first shot of the match through Becker. Ernst gathers the long-range effort at the second attempt.
8'
Huge chance for the second!
Hertha play it clean and quick through Reese, who is sent on his way down the left and delivers a low cross into the middle, where Grönning reaches the ball with a stretch but can't put it into the back of the net.
7'
Nuremberg fighting
Klose's side are trying to respond, but this early deficit is still causing the home side considerable trouble at the moment.
5'
Success away from home
With his second goal of the season, Winkler has already matched his tally for 2024/25. The 22-year-old also netted the opener in Hertha's last away tie at Hannover.
3'
Alert and ready
The visitors are looking sharp and alert to danger. Zeefuik and Cuisance were key in recovering the ball in midfield before Winkler's opener.
