85'
Richter!
The substitute striker misses the chance to make it 6-1 with a shot towards the near post. Thiede is there and clears it for a corner!

Sympathy
Hamburg's stadium announcer pays respect to the guests from Ulm and the stadium shows sympathy for the Sparrows, whose relegation is already confirmed. A wonderful gesture!

Hamburg control
The match has calmed down as the contest is all but decided. Hamburg make a double substitution, with Stange and Richter getting a chance to participate.

Five Goals
For the third time this season, Hamburg have scored five goals in a match. Before today, they achieved the feat in the 5-0 home victories against Fürth and Regensburg.
75'
Glatzel!
Substitute Glatzel is allowed to turn in the Ulm penalty area with the ball at his feet. He fires off a left-footed effort, but flies over the bar. Still, it feels like their could be a sixth goal for Hamburg in the offing.
70'
Special applause!
Königsdörffer and Selke leave the pitch to the thunderous applause of the HSV fans. Glatzel and Karabec come on.
68'
Superb volley!
Dressel is not ready to accept the result yet and strikes a direct volley from distance. Heuer Fernandes is on the spot and manages to clear the ball for a corner.
66'
Difficult evening
Ulm can offer little resistance to HSV's pressure now. The match is decided and Ulm will know that this won't be enough to avoid relegation. It's bitter, because Ulm have turned in a more than committed performance here, even having a great chance to make it 2-1 through Telalović's penalty.
65'
Three-time brace bagger
Königsdörffer has now scored two or more goals in a match for the third time this season. Previously, he bagged braces in Cologne and Magdeburg, but this is the first time he has doubled up at the Volkspark.
62'
Brace!
The floodgates are opening in Hamburg! Königsdörffer does better than Selke in the previous scene and smashes the ball into the bottom left corner from 18 metres out. 5-1! HSV will be back in the Bundesliga in 30 minutes.
61'
Selke misses
The HSV centre-forward's shot from the edge of the penalty area is too high, flying well over the crossbar.
59'
With the fist
Heuer Fernandes punches a ball rather unorthodoxly out of his six-yard box after it bounces in front of him. It's a corner for the Sparrows, but no danger ensues.

Spectator Record
One of the 57,000 visitors at the Volkspark is the nine millionth spectator of this second division season - for the first time in history, Bundesliga 2 has broken this symbolic barrier.

Own goal! 4-1!
How bitter! HSV are gifted the goal that makes it 4-1! Dompé crosses an innocuous-seeming ball from the left but Thiede lets it slip from his grasp - right in front of back-pedalling Ulm captain Strompf, who unfortunately pushes the ball over his own line.

Half-time: Hamburg 3-1 Ulm
The fans in Hamburg are going crazy! The Red Shorts lead 3-1 at the break against an Ulm side that couldn't convert their chances despite playing very well in the first 45 minutes. Reis, Königsdörffer and Selke punished them clinically with their goals and now the atmosphere among the HSV fans is close to boiling over. Just 45 minutes to go until a possible return to the Bundesliga. Can Ulm work their way back into the match - and their bid to beat the drop?

Next chance
Königsdörffer shoots from 25 metres and forces Thiede into a diving save. The Ulm goalkeeper prevents the score from becoming 4-1 a strong save just before the break. However, there's a corner for Hamburg. But Thiede is able to pluck this one out of the air as well.

Goooooal!
Selke refuses to give up on a long ball about 35 metres from goal and initiates an attack. And, after making a run to the far post, it comes back to him as he hangs in the air to head Dompé's pinpoint cross into the back of the net.

A crazy match!
It's 3-9 shots on goal and xGoals 0.2 to 1.6 in favour of Ulm - but Hamburg are in front in this potentially decisive match for the return to the Bundesliga.
42'
Goooooal!
HSV take the lead just before the half-time whistle! And it's a touch of genius from Königsdörffer, who chases down a long ball and then looks up to chip the ball over a stranded Thiede from 23 metres out. The ball dips perfectly into the back of the net!

Yellow card
Sahiti catches Keller as he dribbles past him on the left flank. That's a booking!

Keller!
On the left of the area, Keller has another chance to shoot. However, his effort is deflected and lands in the arms of Heuer Fernandes.

Missed Shots
Ulm converted their first five penalties of the season - but have now missed successive spot-kicks on Matchday 32 and 33.

Clear-cut chance
Ulm come forward dangerously again, this time through Keller on the right. He sends a well-measured pass into the centre, and Higl looks to shoot - but his attempt is blocked. The Ulm striker goes down in the challenge and the scene is being checked by VAR for a possible penalty.

Ulm going all-out
It's 5-2 shots on goal for the visitors, who are winning more duels and are putting in a really strong away performance so far. They're causing unexpected problems for Hamburg.
24'
Dressel has a crack
The Ulm midfielder has the next good chance of the match. His shot from 25 metres forces Heuer Fernandes into a brilliant save - the HSV keeper has to stretch himself fully to stop the ball sneaking over the line. Corner! But it comes to nothing.

Big Gaps
There are spaces opening up in midfield for Hamburg, who keep pushing forward through Dompé. On his latest foray, a shot from the winger is safely collected by Ulm goalkeeper Thiede.

Hamburg pushing forward
Hamburg are now the dominant team and they're looking to take control of the match. The goal from Reis - who also scored last week - was the 19th HSV have scored in the opening quarter-hour of matches this season. Absolutely top of the table in Bundesliga 2.

Equaliser!
The madness in Hamburg continues! With their very first attack after conceding, HSV equalise. Reis receives the ball from Muheim across the edge of the penalty area and places a low first-time shot into the bottom left corner. 1-1, back to square one!
7'
Goooooal!
Ulm takes the lead after the ensuing corner! It's a very scrappy move, at the end of which Gaal places the ball into the net with great finesse. Initially, the corner kick is cleared, then the ball comes back into the penalty area a second time and Gaal controls it with his chest, before placing it into the top right corner from the left side of the six-yard box, just under the crossbar.
6'
First big chance!
Ulm break down the right again right and again it's Krattenmacher who drives into the penalty area. His shot is only just blocked by Poręba for a corner.
4'
Down the right
The visitors come down the right flank twice. Krattenmacher's crosses are blocked, though. But Ulm keep the pressure on and are giving HSV a real test so far.

Great atmosphere
Every ball won is immediately celebrated loudly by the HSV fans. Ulm are facing an incredibly heated atmosphere here - but they are on the front foot in the early stages.

Party in Hamburg?
The competitors have all done their part: Elversberg and Paderborn won today, Köln overtook Hamburg yesterday with their victory in Funkel's comeback. But none of this need bother the Red Shorts - if they win today, they won't need to look over their shoulders any more - they will be back in the Bundesliga after seven years!
A must-win match for Ulm
The situation for the visitors requires no complex calculations: it's win or go down! Only with a three-point haul can Ulm maintain their hopes of staying up. Anything else will see Ulm relegated at the final whistle.
Two changes for the hosts
There are two changes for HSV compared to the 4-0 win in Darmstadt. The first: Sahiti returns to the starting XI, relegating Balde to the bench. The second: the intriguing question of Hadzikadunic's replacement - Poręba starts in central defence.
Ulm starting XI
Thiede - Allgeier, Gaal, Strompf, Rösch - Krattenmacher, Dressel - Higl, Kahvić, Keller - Telalović
Hamburg starting XI
Heuer Fernandes - Mikelbrencis, Poręba, Elfadli, Muheim - Königsdörffer, Meffert, Reis - Sahiti, Selke, Dompé
Permutations
Victory for HSV will spell automatic promotion for the Hamburg side on Saturday, regardless of results elsewhere. A draw would also be enough, but only if both Paderborn and Elversberg fail to win their respective fixtures. On the other hand, Ulm will be relegated if they draw and Münster win, or if they lose and Münster avoid defeat.
Robert Lechleiter's thoughts on Hamburg
"It's a match where there's a lot of pressure on both sides on Saturday. We're travelling to Hamburg with the clear aim of winning the match. That's our expectation."
Merlin Polzin on Ulm
"The city and all Hamburg supporters are burning for this match. It's important for me to mention again: It probably won't be a spectacle on Saturday - because Ulm simply play in a very nasty way. And because there's a lot at stake for both teams. That's why it's even more important that we keep the positive atmosphere throughout the 90 minutes. Everyone who has a ticket, please drive the team forward."
1-0 trend
Ulm have taken the lead in all three encounters against Hamburg to date. In HSV's sole competitive victory at the Donaustadion in October 1999, Nico Jan Hoogma and Tony Yeboah turned the match around with late goals.
Handful of past meetings
Hamburg came from behind to draw the reverse fixture. Both sides recorded away wins in their previous meetings, in the 1999/00 Bundesliga.
