Away win?

Can Ulm achieve their first away win in over seven months? After the victory in Elversberg on 22nd September, 12 winless away matches followed until today. And a victory here would be enormously important in the fight against relegation.
86'

The next corner

Green delivers it from the left, but straight into Thiede's arms.
85'

Fürth continue to struggle

It looks like the seventh consecutive Bundesliga 2 match without a win for Fürth, which would be the longest negative streak in almost three years (at the beginning of 2022/23 it was even eight matches).
83'

Perhaps from a free kick?

No! Klaus tries to send the set piece towards goal after a short run-up, but the Ulm wall jumps high and clears it for a corner, which is easily cleared.
81'

Too little return

Currently, Fürth in particular is investing a lot with the ball, but they are not managing to create any danger in front of the Ulm goal. And when they do manage it, the final step is missing - as with Futkeu five minutes ago.
80'

Krattenmacher rewarded himself

He had the most shots towards goal of all players (five) and almost as many as all Fürth players (eight).
78'

The goalscorer departs

With his last action, Krattenmacher stops a Fürth attack and receives a yellow card.
75'

No Fighting Back

Fürth apparently can't maintain the momentum from Hrgota's shot that hit the crossbar. Currently, Ulm aren't being tested at the back.
camera-photo

Long-range specialist

Krattenmacher scored his third goal of the season, two of which he has now scored from distance. The youngster was thus responsible for two of Ulm's five long-range goals.
68'

Hrgota lets it rip!

Strompf doesn't clear the ball decisively enough, allowing Hrgota to get possession and unleash a shot on the turn. The right-footed effort is deflected by an Ulm player onto the crossbar!
68'

The Sparrows are more alert

The ball recovery time clearly shows that Ulm are getting into tackles better today. On average, they need around eight seconds to win the ball back after losing it – for Fürth it's almost 15.

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals> xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals> goals).
Meanwhile, Ulm has reached an xGoals value of almost one, while Fürth remains overall too harmless in front of goal despite their many advances.

Krattenmacher does it!

From 24 metres out, the Ulm attacker takes aim and tries to curl the ball into the top right corner. Quarshie helps it on its way by slightly deflecting the ball - giving Noll in the Fürth goal no chance.

Cleared off the line!

A long throw-in from the left by Keller is flicked on by at the near post. The ball flies over Noll and makes its way towards the goal, but Gießelmann clears it off the goal line with an overhead kick!
55'

Not even the side netting

Hrgota makes a similar mistake to Keller on the other side, the cross from the left by the Fürth captain sails into touch without even touching the side netting. The second half begins as quietly as the first.
54'

Short corner routine

Keller, after sending a Fürth player the wrong way, hits the side netting.
52'

Another long-range attempt

The ball falls somewhat fortunately at Green's feet, and he shoots from distance again. This time, however, the gap between the ball and the left post is wider.
51'

First booking

Asta and Kolbe crash into each other in an aerial duel on the right touchline, both need treatment. The action was initiated by Asta, Weisbach shows him the yellow card.
50'

Green!

He shoots low from outside the penalty area on the right, the ball whizzes past the left post.
48'

Another treatment interruption

But it only lasts briefly. Futkeu caught Strompf on the leg.
46'

Hrgota has space

Klaus is involved immediately, winning a high ball and sending Hrgota through, but Strompf clears with a sliding tackle.
46'

We're back underway!

For the home side, Klaus replaces Meyerhöfer for the second half.

Half-time in Fürth

Both teams initially felt each other out, but as the match progressed, both attacks became more dangerous. Fürth had particularly good approaches through Consbruch and Futkeu, while on the other side, Higl had the best opportunity for Ulm but failed to get his shot away. The match is completely open.

Stoppage time

Three minutes until the half-time whistle.
45'

Another Ulm player down

Dressel seems to have taken a knock to his back, he's receiving treatment but can continue playing.
43'

There was more in it!

Consbruch doesn't control a low cross into the penalty area well and the ball bounces away from him. Had he controlled it better, it could have been dangerous!
42'

Off target

Gaal finds some space and shoots from about 20 metres out, but his low shot goes well wide of the Fürth goal.
41'

As usual

In 13 of the 30 season matches so far, no goals were scored by either side before half-time for Ulm. Will we see the 14th goalless first half today?
39'

Bicycle kick attempt

Following a free kick, Meyerhöfer tries an acrobatic effort, but it remains just an attempt. Nevertheless, Fürth are becoming more dangerous again!
36'

Futkeu with a header!

After a curling cross from Green, the striker, with his back to goal, heads towards it, but too centrally, and Thiede claims comfortably.
35'

Fürth breathe a sigh of relief

Weisbach blows his whistle twice in quick succession to stop an Ulm attack, allowing Fürth to try and regain control of their game – through Hrgota, for example. He dances past three Spatzen players in midfield, but his through ball towards Consbruch is too imprecise.
32'

Ulm improving

Spurred on by the travelling fans, Die Spatzen are throwing themselves more and more into challenges. They're really pressing high right now

Asta powers his way up the right flank, but Kolbe slides in to put the ball behind. Consbruch heads the resulting corner straight into the arms of the goalkeeper.

Service resume

Keller is back for Fürth. He'll try and run off the problem.
11'

Consbruch!

Consbruch exploits his team's temporary man advantage and tries a low shot from the edge of the penalty area, forcing Thiede to make a strong save.
9'

Ulm concern

Keller goes down off the ball. He appears to have twisted his left ankle and might have to be taken off.
5'

Right idea

Gießelmann delivers a cross from the left, but Ulm goalkeeper Thiede makes an easy catch.

Higl back

There's only one change for Ulm: Felix Higl returns from suspension, with Oliver Batista Meier dropping to the bench.

Good omen for the Clover Leaf?

Marco Meyerhöfer returns to the side for the first time since Matchday 23, when Fürth celebrated their last home victory (3-0 vs. Braunschweig).

Chance for Gießelmann

The wide player is in the Fürth starting XI for the first time since 8 March. It's only his fourth start in the second half of the season.

Ulm starting line-up

Thiede - Gaal, Strompf, Kolbe - Allgeier, Brandt, Dressel, Keller - Krattenmacher - Telalović, Higl

Fürth starting line-up

Noll - Meyerhöfer, Quarshie, Loosli - Asta, John, Green, Gießelmann - Consbruch, Hrgota - Futkeu

What Robert Lechleiter says

On Friday, we have a match ahead of us against an opponent who hasn't achieved the results they wanted in recent fixtures. Fürth is a team that are strong in possession and presses very aggressively when out of possession."

What Jan Siewert says

"It's a home match for us and a chance to pull away, so it's a positive pressure and a positive approach that we will choose, and that's why we want to and must invest everything in this game."

Strong run

Fürth are unbeaten in 11 competitive matches against Ulm (five wins, six draws).

Siewert's bogey team

Fürth coach Jan Siewert hasn't won any of his three matches against Ulm. Besides the 1-1 draw in the first fixture (Julian Green and Semir Telalović each converted a penalty), Siewert faced the Spatzen as coach of Mainz's U23 side in the Regionalliga Südwest, losing both encounters in 2022/23 (4-0 & 4-1).

The last Ulm victory in this fixture was a 3-0 home win under Jörg Berger in Bundesliga 2 in March 1981. This was also the only win for the Sparrows in nine second-tier encounters between the two teams (five wins for Fürth, three draws).

Previous meetings

Including Regionalliga and Oberliga, Ulm have been guests at the Ronhof for 16 competitive matches so far, with Fürth celebrating 14 victories and drawing twice in that time.
