The second half promised more than it delivered. Magdeburg invested a bit more effort, but for long stretches, they struggled to create chances in front of the opponent's goal, just like Fürth. They did have two clear-cut opportunities - through Hercher and Kaars - but these remained unconverted. In the end, the match resulted in a share of the points, which had already been decided in the first half when Futkeu's goal was countered by Atik just three minutes later.

For Fürth, it would be their first home draw in half a year (0-0 against Elversberg on matchday 5), for Magdeburg only their second away draw (2-2 on matchday 11 at the Betzenberg).

Both teams are back on the pitch without any personnel changes, Magdeburg kick off the second half.

In a fast-paced first half, Fürth initially took the lead when Green cleverly laid the ball off to Futkeu, who only had to tap it in. But Magdeburg responded immediately: Atik equalised with a precise finish after El-Zein had set him up brilliantly. Afterwards, an evenly matched game developed with few attempts on goal, in which both teams allowed themselves short periods of respite. Overall, both sides invested a lot of effort, with FCM showing strength in challenges, winning 56 percent of duels, while the Clover Leaves created the clearer goal-scoring opportunities.

The match is taking a brief breather. Reimann and his teammates are calmly passing the ball amongst themselves.

First, Hrgota misses the pass, causing the ball to land with Gnaka, who in turn plays it too far wide and thus misses his own man.

The ball is rolling in Fürth, the home side have kicked off - twice, in fact. The visitors were a bit too eager, so referee Gansloweit intervened and blew the whistle for a second time a few seconds later.

The 35-year-old is ending his active career for the sake of his health, but will remain with the club. He has been with the Cloverleaves for almost 30 years, making 182 appearances and scoring 15 goals. Before kick-off, the club icon was duly honoured and celebrated.

With Mathisen and Hugonet missing, the visitors are without two of their usual back three, with only Heber remaining. Tobias Müller and winter signing Patric Pfeiffer come into defence, with the latter starting for the first time. And it's happening in Fürth of all places - here at Ronhof was where he last started a match in Bundesliga 2, seeing red after 30 minutes as a Darmstadt player in May 2023, with his Lilies already losing 4-0 at the time.

For the hosts, Mathisen received his tenth yellow card in the last match, while Hugonet and El Hankouri are both ill. At least Atik returns after his own yellow card suspension, replacing Amaechi in the starting XI.

In addition to the suspended Felix Klaus, Marco John is also unavailable. Niko Gießelmann starts for the first time since Matchday 19 in place of the latter, while the former is replaced by Jomaine Consbruch.
