Freiburg bounce back

After losing their first couple of games, Freiburg have looked more like themselves in the past four matchdays. They won consecutive games against Stuttgart and Bremen before collecting draws against Hoffenheim and Gladbach, scoring nine and conceding nine in that time.

Frankfurt's defensive woes

While the visitors are getting plenty out of their attack, they're also letting in an alarming amount at the other end. They've conceded 16 so far - the most in the division - including shipping four against both Union Berlin and Gladbach.

Too close for comfort

The two sides sit just one point and one place apart heading into Matchday 7. Freiburg have won twice, drawn twice and lost twice, while Frankfurt's season thus far has been one of extremes with three wins and as many defeats after Matchday 6. Frankfurt have lost only one of their last 11 meetings with Freiburg, winning both of the sides' Bundesliga encounters in 2024/25. A 4-1 home victory on Matchday 17 was followed up by a 3-1 success on the final day of the campaign - a result which booked Eintracht's place in the UEFA Champions League at their opponents' expense.
