The 05ers overturned a 2-1 first-leg deficit in some style on Thursday by beating Rosenborg 4-1 at home to win their play-off tie and book a place in the league phase of the 2025/26 UEFA Conference League.

That 4-3 win in December was one of just three times Wolfsburg got three points at home in 2024/25. They last beat Gladbach 5-1 in their first game of January but haven't managed another Bundesliga victory at the Volkswagen Arena since. That's a run of eight games. A ninth would be a new unwanted club record at this level.
