Şahin's fitness boost

"I'm pleased to finally be able to make some decisions. Previously I could only count to 11 and then play them," said a relieved Dortmund boss after an improvement in the team's recent injury crisis. Şahin confirmed at Thursday's press conference that five players are set to return in Gio Reyna, Julien Duranville, Waldemar Anton, Jamie Gittens and goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, while Niklas Süle, Karim Adeyemi and Kjell Wätjen are also making progress towards their comebacks. Only captain Emre Can misses out due to suspension.

Schuster's view on Dortmund

"Their big advantage is the energy created in that stadium. That can carry over to their play, especially in terms of counter-pressing. There are different ways to break up that rhythm. When you look at their games, they have great quality and flexibility with the ball. We'll defend passionately and resolutely. It's important we play with that energy."

"I'm a fan of the way Freiburg play and how the club has managed to stabilise itself over the years. And Julian [Schuster] is doing a really good job.
