Record Bundesliga and DFB Cup winners Bayern Munich will face Bayer Leverkusen in the semi-finals of the 2017/18 edition of the cup. The second tie will see Schalke host Eintracht Frankfurt. This season’s semi-finals will be contested on 17 and 18 April, with the final in Berlin taking place on 19 May.

The Bundesliga’s current leaders, who knocked out third-tier Paderborn to reach this stage, last met Leverkusen in the cup back in 2015 with the Bavarians only progressing on penalties at the BayArena following a goalless 120 minutes. The two sides also met in the semi-finals in 2003 as Giovane Elber scored twice in a 3-1 win in Munich. Die Werkself beat Werder Bremen 4-2 in extra-time to reach the final four.

Schalke, who beat Wolfsburg 1-0 to reach the final four, will host Eintracht after the Eagles knocked out local rivals Mainz 3-0 to reach this stage. Frankfurt beat the Royal Blues 6-0 the last time these sides faced each other in the DFB Cup back in 2006.

Holders Borussia Dortmund, who beat Eintracht 2-1 in last year's final, were knocked out in the last 16 this season by Bayern.
