And that seals it!

What a performance from the substitute Ljubičić! He calmly strokes home Union's fourth to wrap up the win - that's two goals and an assist in an outstanding 30-minute cameo!

Can Eintracht conjure up an equaliser? Union are doing a good job of seeing out the result so far.

Substitution

Minor scuffle

There's a bit of argy-bargy after a late challenge, and the referee books a player from each side - Aydin and Aebischer
87'

Big chance!

Sturm gets the ball to Aydin on the right side of the box. He's unmarked, and it's an excellent shooting chance, but he blazes it over the bar! Eintracht may regret missing that opportunity!
83'

Powerful effort

Junior Zé hammers in a shot from outside the box, but it's well blocked by the Union rearguard.
80'

About ten mins to go

Can Eintracht dig deep and make it 3-3?

Substitution

Union have turned this around!

The visitors, twice behind in this match, now have the lead for the first time. Super-sub Ljubičić, provider of the second equaliser, gets on the scoresheet himself this time, heading home from close range after Hoffmann had saved Ansah's effort!

Both teams take a breath

Since the equaliser, the game has entered a bit of a lull, which is understandable given the pace at which the encounter has been played up to now.

Union draw level again!

The Köpenickers show that they've got plenty of resolve left, equalising through Rothe, who taps home Ljubičić's flick-on in composed fashion!

Chance for Union

The Berlin side need a goal and they almost had it there, but Frenkert's last-minute intervention - stretching at the back post to take the ball away from a couple of lurking opposition players - saves the day!

The hosts ahead again!

What a composed finish by Marie! That's his brace, and it restores Braunschweig's lead!

Kick-off!

Half-time: Eintracht Braunschweig 1-1 Union Berlin

The home fans' Bob Ross-inspired tifo had warned that things might get a "little crazy", and that's been the case as the whistle goes on the first half of an entertaining DFB Cup battle. Braunschweig took the lead through Marie's opportunistic finish, before Van den Bosch headed the visitors level. All to play for in the second half!

Opoku goes close!

Opoku attempts to curl one into the top right-hand corner, but it's only just wide! Nice effort, and the crowd reacts accordingly.
41'

Five mins to half-time

With the interval approaching, this game continues to swing back and forth. While Union have more of the ball now, the hosts looks dangerous every time they break.
36'

Off the bar!

It's fair to say the Lions' heads have not gone down after that leveller - Katterbach looks up and smashes a thunderous effort back off the crossbar. So unlucky!

Union are level!!

The Irons had begun to put on a bit of pressure, and it's paid dividends, as Van den Bosch steers Juranović's corner kick into the net with a firm header! Game on!

Better from the Berliners

Union have had a sustained period of possession for the last couple of minutes, but they can't find a way through a packed home defence.

Struggling to gain a foothold

Union appear shellshocked by the goal, and are having real trouble stringing a few passes together right now.

Magic Marie

That's Marie's first goal in just his second DFB Cup match. In his debut in the first round of last season, he provided an assist in a crazy 4-4 draw with Stuttgart.

Marie is quickest to react to a loose ball in the box, and he slots it home to give the Bundesliga 2 side a surprise lead!

Hectic opening few mins

The early stages have been pretty back-and-forth, and if this continues, it's likely we've got a rip-roaring cup tie ahead of us!

Home side go close

That's Braunschweig's first real chance of the match - Raab makes a very good save, tipping Marie's effort over the bar for a corner (which eventually comes to nothing).

Union Berlin's DFB Cup history

Union have reached the final of this competition on one occasion, in 2001, when, still in the third tier at the time, they went on a sensational run, eliminating the likes of Bochum and Borussia Mönchengladbach to reach the showpiece match in their own city. Unfortunately, Schalke proved too strong on the day, winning 2-0 and denying the Köpenick club what would have been one of German football's greatest achievements.

Eintracht Braunschweig's DFB Cup history

Braunschweig have never lifted the DFB Cup, but they did get close in the 1989/90 tournament, where they made it all the way to the semi-finals, before Werder Bremen proved a hurdle too far. Last season they gave eventual finalists Stuttgart a mighty scare, losing out in a shoot-out after an entertaining 4-4 draw.
