Guirassy: "Perfect start"

"We were in traffic for an hour and 15 minutes, so had to get changed quickly in the dressing room. We barely had 10 minutes to get ready. But we started well. I scored with my head again today from a very good cross by Julian Ryerson. I think it's the perfect start to these Champions League play-offs."

Brandt: "We can be happy"

"On the whole, we're pleased and head to Bergamo next week with confidence. I would've liked if we'd got another goal in the second half. A 2-0 [advantage] is a bit treacherous but also gives us some security, because we kept a clean sheet and scored two goals. We can generally be happy with the game."

Full-time: Borussia Dortmund 2-0 Atalanta

The visitors offered very little going forward, with the hosts confident in their ability to see out the result with sustained possession and, as ever, determined defending.
