VfB Stuttgart sign Leicester City's Bilal El Khannouss
VfB Stuttgart have confirmed the signing of Bilal El Khannouss on loan from Leicester City.
The 21-year-old will stay with the Swabians until the end of the 2025/26 season.
Upon the announcement, Stuttgart's board member for sport Fabian Wohlgemuth said: "We are delighted that we were able to complete the transfer of Bilal El Khannouss.
"He is a young, developing player who will showcase his strengths in attack, especially in the centre, but also on the wing. He is a strong dribbler, fast, and has a good passing game – thus increasing the versatility of our attacking game."
For his part, El Khannouss said: "My first impressions are very positive – I'm happy that everything worked out. Stuttgart are a big club that have been on a successful path in recent years. The discussions with the management were very good. I'm looking forward to the time ahead and can't wait to get started and get to know my new teammates better."
The Morocco international, who has 22 senior caps to his name, joins from the Foxes following their relegation from the English Premier League to the Championship.
He made 32 appearances in the league last year, scoring twice and providing three assists. He previously came through the Genk youth system before signing for Leicester in summer 2024.
El Khannouss is Stuttgart's seventh signing of the summer after the arrivals of Badredine Bouanani, Tiago Tomás, Lorenz Assignon, Lazar Jovanović, Chema Andrés and Noah Darvich.
He could make his Stuttgart bow at Freiburg after the September international break, when last season's DFB Cup holders try to build on their Bundesliga Matchday 2 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
