"We're a club with a great German history and are capable of winning titles," Cincinnati CEO Jeff Berding told German newspaper Bild.
"Thomas is a winner. We think he would fit in with us very well. We made him a good offer and had several conversations with his advisors.
"Ultimately, he has a lot of options. We respect it if he and his advisors are looking for something else."

"It’s not over until he signs with another club," Berding continued.
"We know that this is his farewell tour here with Bayern, and that afterwards he'll decide what comes next. We also know what we have here: a big stadium, a great atmosphere, and excellent conditions. Who knows what will happen in the end?"
Bayern even kicked off their Club World Cup campaign in Cincinnati, with Müller scoring twice in a thumping 10-0 victory over Auckland in Group C.
"The entire stadium and the fans were really up for it," said the 35-year-old afterwards. "I have to say, they have very good conditions here."
