No Mats Hummels in latest Germany squad
Mats Hummels has not been included in Hansi Flick's most recent Germany squad for the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Romania and North Macedonia.
Flick has a perfect record of three games played, three won, 12 goals scored, and none conceded since succeeding Joachim Löw as Germany coach in the summer.
Hummels and Thomas Müller were previously recalled by the former Bayern Munich tactician - who led the champions to an unprecedented sextuple in 2020 - with Flick happy to blend youth and experience for both club and country.
Hummels has only started two Bundesliga games for Borussia Dortmund this season, though, as he works to overcome a knee injury. The next round of qualifiers - against Liechtenstein and Armenia - should be his aim.
Hoffenheim youngster David Raum keeps his place, as does Red Bull Salzburg's Karim Adeyemi, while there is a return for Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Germany are currently top of World Cup qualifying Group J, four points clear of second-place Armenia, who are captained by former Dortmund star Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
