Arsenal's Fábio Vieira completes loan switch to Hamburg
Hamburg have announced the signing of Portuguese attacker Fábio Vieira from Arsenal on a season-long loan.
Vieira, 25, spent the 2024/25 season on loan at Porto, helping his boyhood club finish third in the Liga Portugal.
The former Portugal youth international registered five goals and six assists in 42 appearances, including one goal involvement across three starts at this summer's FIFA Club World Cup.
"Fábio is a high-quality acquisition," said Hamburg sporting director Stefan Kuntz.
"He's a classic playmaker who'll bring a lot of creativity to the team. He will give our attack even more options."
Vieira joined Arsenal after winning his second league title with Porto in 2022. He made 22 Premier League appearances in his debut season at the Emirates Stadium, albeit just three from the start, and similarly struggled for playing time across the following campaign.
The playmaker is now looking forward to helping Hamburg re-establish themselves in the Bundesliga, after seven seasons in the second tier.
"The fans, the stadium, basically everything about this club is incredible," he enthused.
"I'm a player who feels comfortable in the final third. I hope to help the club achieve its goals with goals and assists, and I can't wait to get started."
