Hamburg sign Argentinian midfielder Nicolás Capaldo
Hamburg have signed Argentinian midfielder Nicolás Capaldo from Red Bull Salzburg.
Capaldo completed his medical check on 10 July before putting pen to paper on a contract of undisclosed length.
"HSV are a big club," the 26-year-old said. "I'm very happy to be here now. I'm a player who brings a lot of energy to the game and always gives 100 percent every minute. Now I can’t wait to start training with my new teammates and hopefully have a successful season."
After coming through the ranks at Boca Juniors in his native Argentina he went on to make 65 competitive outings for the first team, including a league and cup double in 2019/20.
Salzburg came calling ahead of the 2021/22 campaign. The tenacious midfielder contributed 15 goals and 10 assists in 126 appearances for the Austrian side, including 22 in the UEFA Champions League.
"He brings a lot of energy, mentality, and passion, which will benefit our team in the Bundesliga both on and off the pitch," said HSV board member for sport Stefan Kuntz.
