Julian Nagelsmann's reaction to Germany's win against Côte d'Ivoire: 'We dealt well with the setbacks'
Julian Nagelsmann, Deniz Undav, Jonathan Tah and Nadiem Amiri give their reaction to Germany's 2-1 comeback victory against Côte d'Ivoire.
Julian Nagelsmann (head coach): "We dealt well with the setbacks. We needed a little time in the opening minutes, but then we were well into the game. We lacked the final touch in the penalty area. Then we conceded a goal in what should have been a simple situation. I think we came back well; that was the key. I'm very proud of the lads who came on. They all did very well."
Deniz Undav: "The most important thing was that we won. After conceding, we stepped it up a notch. We knew we were going to score. I knew I'd get the ball and then I had to take advantage of it. The fact that it worked right away with the first opportunity, I think, turned the momentum in our favor again.
Watch: 'Cometh the hour, cometh Deniz Undav!'

"We had a few lucky breaks in the transition situations. The 2-1 goal made it perfect. A lot of things are going right for me at the moment. I'm enjoying the momentum and the feeling. The trust of the team and the coaching staff makes it easier. There's no nervousness. It's just a football match."
Jonathan Tah: "That was a winning mentality and team spirit. I believe that is exactly what you need to be successful in a tournament. We didn't give up, we knew we would eventually tire out the opponent. We kept going. Everyone did an outstanding job. The way Deniz came into the game was simply outstanding."
Nadiem Amiri: "That was absolutely the team's mentality. The way we threw ourselves into it and came back. I don't think Germany has had that kind of unity in a long time, the way we all ran for each other. We can all be proud of ourselves."
Emerse Faé (Ivory Coast coach): "We played honorably here and put in a good performance. The details were crucial, and you could also see the difference in experience. You're always disappointed when you lose. But when you play against such big teams, you're never safe from conceding a goal."
