Ebnoutalib, 22, scored 12 times in 17 Hinrunde games, helping fire Elversberg into second place at the halfway stage of the campaign.

The German-Moroccan, who was playing in Germany's fourth tier with Gießen little over a year ago, has signed a 5-year deal that'll begin on 1 January 2026 and keep him at hometown club Frankfurt until 30 June 2031.

"Younes is a very dangerous player in front of goal with excellent physical attributes," enthused the Eagles' board member for sport, Markus Krösche. "In recent months, he has been able to take the next steps in his development at Elversberg, which we want to continue to foster together."

Ebnoutalib could get his first taste of Bundesliga football when Frankfurt host Borussia Dortmund in the opening top-flight fixture of 2026, on 9 January.

The Eagles - seventh in the current Bundesliga standings - also face two crucial UEFA Champions League league-phase fixtures against Qarabağ and Tottenham Hotspur before the month is out.

"With Younes Ebnoutalib, we have signed one of the most exciting German strikers at the moment," said Timmo Hardung, Frankfurt's sporting director. "He brings a high work rate, great physical presence, and assertiveness in the box. He is also technically gifted and has a good finishing touch."

Ebnoutalib, who made his professional debut with Italian outfit Perugia in September 2023, aged 19, before linking up with Gießen the following summer, will provide competition for the likes of current Frankfurt top scorer Jonathan Burkardt, Michy Batshuayi, Jessic Ngankam and Elye Wahi in the Eintracht attack.

Young forwards including Luka Jović, Randal Kolo Muani, Omar Marmoush and Hugo Ekitiké have all excelled at the club in recent years, before being sold for large profits.
