DFL recommends minute's silence to pay respects to the victims of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria
The DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga has recommended a minute's silence ahead of the Matchday 20 fixtures in the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2, as well as for players to wear black armbands in honour of the victims of the devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
Matchday 20 in the Bundesliga kicks off Friday evening when Schalke host Wolfsburg (8:30pm CET), with the Bundesliga 2 games between Arminia Bielefeld and Hansa Rostock and Karlsruhe and Greuther Fürth starting earlier in the evening (6.30pm CET).
The German Central Institute for Social Issues (DZI) has compiled a list of the names, addresses and account numbers of relief organisations appealing for donations in order to help those affected by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.

The focus of the DZI is primarily on advising on donations, and its board is made up of representatives from the Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, the Berlin Senate, the German Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the German Association of Cities and Towns and the Federal Association of Voluntary Welfare Organisations, among others.
