The 20-year-old joined the Billy Goats on loan from the Premier League club in January 2026 and has since made 11 appearances in Germany’s top flight, helping Cologne secure their Bundesliga place for 2026/27.

“Jahmai has settled in very quickly since his move in the winter and immediately embraced the challenge at this level,” explained Cologne sporting director Thomas Kessler. “His performances have shown the potential he possesses.

“We are all the more pleased that we have now been able to secure his services long-term. His development is yet another example of how Cologne offers a very good environment for young, talented players to take the next step in their careers.”

The defender rose through the ranks at Manchester City, captaining the U19 side in both the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in 2024, winning the former before spending time on loan at Scottish side Celtic prior to his loan to Cologne.

“I’ve gotten a lot of playing time here and the club has placed a lot of trust in me,” said Simpson-Pusey on his decision to remain at the club. “I’m grateful for that and that’s why I wanted to stay in Cologne.”
