Jahmai Simpson-Pusey joins Cologne on loan from Manchester City

Cologne have announced the signing of talented English defender Jahmai Simpson-Pusey on loan from Manchester City until the end of the current campaign.

Twenty-year-old Simpson-Pusey has made appearances in both the English (two) and Scottish (one) top flights, as well as two appearances in the UEFA Champions League.

Cologne sporting director Thomas Kessler said: "Jahmai is a talented player who, despite his young age, already has experience at the highest level. He enjoyed his footballing education at one of the world’s best clubs and is excellent on the ball. Jahmai brings a high level of motivation and a real desire to the club, which will have a positive influence on the competition for places."

Huddersfield-born Simpson-Pusey has been a member of Manchester City's prestigious academy since the age of eight, having joined back in 2013.

The defender rose through the ranks at City, captaining the U19 side in both the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League in 2024, winning the former.

Simpson-Pusey said: "The move to Cologne is a fresh start for me, and one I’m really looking forward to. As I looked into Cologne and the history around the club, I wanted to get started right away. Now I’m looking forward to getting to know my new teammates – and Hennes."
