Borussia Dortmund sign Giannis Konstantelias from PAOK
Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Giannis Konstantelias from PAOK, with the Greek playmaker penning a long-term contract until June 2031.
Konstantelias, 23, arrives having registered eight goals and two assists in 24 Greece’s Super League in 2025/26, whilst he’s already off the mark this season with three goals in four UEFA Europa League play-off round appearances, as PAOK suffered 4-2 aggregate defeat against Belgian side Anderlecht.
Dortmund managing director of sports Lars Ricken said: “We are delighted to have secured the services of Giannis, a talented attacking player whose development we have been following for some time. At 23, he is still a relatively young player, but one who already brings a wealth of experience.”
A graduate of PAOK’s youth academy, Konstantelias made 190 appearances, plundering 44 goals and creating a further 26 for his former club, helping them secure the 2023/24 league title after making his debut at 17 in January 2021.
“I am very happy to be playing for Borussia Dortmund in the future," said Konstantelias. "BVB is a great club and I will give everything to be successful here.”
Playing for Greece’s youth teams up to U21 level, Konstantelias - who joins BVB two weeks after compatriot Konstantinos Karetsas - was handed his senior debut in March 2023, and has since struck four goals in 18 games.
Dortmund kick off the 2026/27 season in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup at home to Bayern Munich on 22 August before hosting Hamburg in the Bundesliga a week later.
