Group F winners!
Daniel Svensson's first-half winner against Ulsan, coupled with Fluminense's 0-0 draw with Mamelodi, sends Dortmund through in first place with seven points from a possible nine. They'll face the runner-up of Group E in the last 16 in Atlanta on 1 July.

Group F permutations
BVB can win the group, finish second (their current standing on goal difference) or go out in third, depending on how they fare against already eliminated Ulsan. A draw or better will send them through, no matter what happens between current leaders Fluminense and third-placed Mamelodi. However, a defeat would open the door to Mamelodi potentially climbing into the top two and sending Kovač's crew home early.

Dortmund's squad
BVB are taking a team of 28 players to the US, including newest signing Jobe Bellingham, wearing the number 77. American duo Gio Reyna and Cole Campbell are also included, plus Jamie Gittens and Chelsea loanee Carney Chukwuemeka. Two big absentees are Nico Schlotterbeck after his knee injury in the latter weeks of the season and captain Emre Can, who's suffering with an adductor problem. Midfielder Salih Özcan has also stayed at home.

Beier back in training
After having already returned to individual training, Maximilian Beier rejoined his teammates as a part of a larger squad training session on 7 June. The young forward, after finding himself in a patch of really impressive form in March, sustained an injury in the Bundesliga showdown against Gladbach in April, missing the final few games of the season as a result.

No time for sightseeing
Just one day after their arrival, Niko Kovač will run BVB's first stateside training session on site. The site in question is the training facilities of MLS club Inter Miami, for whom legend of the game Lionel Messi plays. The club co-owned by David Beckham's are also taking part in the Club World Cup and will play the tournament's opening match against Egyptian side Al Ahly.
Departure date: 13 June
Following a short holiday break after the end of the Bundesliga campaign, BVB resumed training on 2 June ahead of boarding the plane to North America eleven days later. The Black-Yellows will set up camp in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Coulibaly returns
Dortmund have recalled defender Soumaïla Coulibaly early, who had been loaned out to Stade Brest, so that he can strengthen the squad that will be travelling to the USA on 13 June.

Registration deadlines
FIFA have created an additional transfer window for the Club World Cup in which clubs can register players. The squad lists for the tournament must be submitted by 10 June. By then, it will be clear which players will be travelling to the USA. If no agreement can be reached regarding a early transfers before then, participating clubs will also be able to replace and add players during a restricted in-competition period from 27 June to 3 July within a set limit and according to specific limitations, according to FIFA's rulings.
A Klassiker on the cards?
With both Bayern and Dortmund playing in the Club World Cup, there is potential for another instalment of Der Klassiker. However, the earliest the two Bundesliga teams can meet is in the semi-finals, and that's only if one finishes first and the other second in their respective groups. If both finish first or both finish second, the would be unable to meet one another before the final.
Going the distance
After the group stage, the top two teams from each group will progress to the knockout phase, which will commence with the round of 16. The round of 16 will take place from 28 June to 1 July, followed by the quarter-finals on 4 and 5 July and the semi-finals on 8 and 9 July. The grand final at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey will kick off on 13 July at 9pm CET.
