Dortmund welcomed Augsburg to Signal Iduna Park, looking to strengthen their grip on second place. Before kick-off, there was a minute's silence to honour former BVB player and club member Reinhold Wosab.
With brothers Nico Schlotterbeck and Keven Schlotterbeck captaining their respective sides, the hosts looked to build on their win against Cologne to try to reel Bayern Munich back in, whilst Augsburg were hoping to bounce back, having lost last time out.

Adeyemi breaks the deadlock
The hosts dominated possession early on and eventually took the lead after 13 minutes. Schlotterbeck played a fine pass to Daniel Svensson, who found Maximilian Beier. The forward worked himself into a bit of space and fired in a deflected cross that Adeyemi finished from close range.
Augsburg almost responded when Rodrigo Ribeiro shot wide after a defensive error from Waldemar Anton, but Dortmund continued to dominate, with Beier and Adeyemi both hitting the crossbar, whilst Finn Dahmen made important saves to keep his team in the contest.
Reggiani seals the points
The second half continued in a similar fashion, with Dortmund controlling proceedings and Augsburg struggling to create meaningful opportunities. The decisive moment came in the 59th minute when Julian Ryerson delivered a pinpoint corner that Reggiani met with a powerful header to score his first Bundesliga goal and make it 2-0. The goal meant he overtook Fabio Chiarodia to become the league's youngest ever Italian goalscorer.
With the points seemingly wrapped up, Dahmen was again forced into a couple of big saves to keep the score respectable as he denied both Adeyemi and substitute Serhou Guirassy.

Man of the Match: Luca Reggiani
At just 18 years old, Luca Reggiani showed why he's considered one of Dortmund's brightest prospects with a tremendous performance. The young defender capped his display with a powerful header for Dortmund's second goal – his first in the Bundesliga – which effectively sealed the points for his side.
Reggiani's all-round contribution was reflected in his impressive 424 fantasy points, the highest of any player in the match. His aerial prowess was evident throughout, not just for his goal but also in defensive situations, as he helped Dortmund keep a clean sheet.
