Šeško joined Leipzig from Red Bull Salzburg in July 2023. The 22-year-old striker scored 39 goals in 87 competitive appearances for the club, including 27 in 64 Bundesliga outings.

The Slovenian also had a knack of scoring in big games, notching six goals in 16 UEFA Champions League outings as well as three in four Bundesliga matches against Bayern Munich.

He was particularly lethal in the DFB Cup, finding the back of the net six times as many matches. He also managed eight assists in all competitions.

Šeško is the second striker to depart Leipzig this summer following veteran Yussuf Poulsen, who completed a switch to Hamburg in July. However, new head coach Ole Werner's squad has been boosted by the arrival of several players, including Johan Bakayako and Yan Diomande.

Leipzig kick off their campaign with their DFB Cup first-round tie against Sandhausen on 16 August, before contesting the 2025/26 Bundesliga curtain-raiser against Bayern a week later.
