Bayern Munich make annual Oktoberfest visit
Bayern Munich paid their annual visit to Oktoberfest on Sunday, with Harry Kane and Co. decked out in traditional Bavarian clothing as they took in the sights, sounds and flavours of the city's beer festival.
After their fixture at Eintracht Frankfurt on Bundesliga Matchday 6 on Saturday, which ended in a 3-0 away win, Bayern signed off for the international break with a trip to the Wiesn, as it is known locally, on the final day of the festival.
With it being a yearly tradition for Bayern, it was of course a first for summer arrivals Jonathan Tah, Tom Bischof, Nicolas Jackson, and Luis Díaz. The Colombian was no doubt in particularly high spirits given that he contributed two goals and an assist towards Bayern's victory in Frankfurt just the night before.
"It’s obviously the most fun to win during Oktoberfest. Now we can all go to the Wiesn feeling completely relaxed and carefree," summarised Manuel Neuer, fresh off equalling the record for most Bundesliga wins.
Joshua Kimmich echoed his captain's sentiments, adding: "Work first, then pleasure. Things are looking really good on the pitch, and the mood in the dressing room is just as positive."
Bayern remain top of the Bundesliga standings on 18 points, four ahead of Borussia Dortmund in second place.
The two teams will contest Der Klassiker on Matchday 7 when when league action resumes in mid-October.
