Harry Kane and Michael Olise feature as Bayern Munich beat Heidenheim in friendly

Harry Kane and Michael Olise both came off the bench and Luis Díaz was among the goals as Bayern Munich beat Heidenheim 4-2 in their final friendly before Saturday's Franz Beckenbauer Supercup against Borussia Dortmund.

Felipe Chávez's superbly struck free-kick cancelled out Yannik Wagner's early opener for Heidenheim, but Julian Niehues' magnificent volley gave the Bundesliga 2 outfit a narrow lead at the interval.

Arijon Ibrahimović restored parity again early in the second half, converting from the penalty spot after Tim Binder had been fouled in the area by Niehues. Kane, Olise and Díaz were brought off the bench shortly after the hour mark, and it was Colombian winger Díaz who put Bayern ahead for the first time after getting on the end of Olise's trademark cross.

Nathaniel Brown's composed finish completed the scoring for the Bundesliga champions, whose only concern will be an off-the-ball incident involving Jamal Musiala midway through the second half.

The Germany international, who collapsed against Leipzig at the weekend, appeared to suffer a similar issue at the Voith-Arena and was withdrawn not long after entering the fray.

Konrad Laimer on his fitness

It was a worrying sight for Bayern fans as their Austrian utility man had to be helped off the pitch in the early stages of the meeting with Leipzig at the Allianz Arena. However, speaking at the champions' Allianz FC Bayern team day at the FC Bayern Campus, Laimer revealed: "Everything’s fine; I took a knock – but it’s no big deal, I should be back to normal soon."

Saibari spoke about his first impressions at Bayern and his role on the pitch in his first media appearance at the club on 14 August.

Injury updates

There were concerns after the Leipzig fixture over the fitness of three key players after Jamal Musiala, Konrad Laimer, and Minjae Kim all had to be withdrawn with injuries sustained throughout the match. Neither Musiala, nor Laimer took part in training on Monday, though Kim did, which possibly signals he may share centre-back duties with Upamecano against Heidenheim, whilst the Frenchman continues to work back to full match fitness.

“I’ve already spoken with the coach about it. It’s only one week of preparation, but I’m used to a quick turnaround. I’ve had these kinds of tournaments almost every year in my career [...] Whether it’s 90 minutes or 45 depends on how I feel this week.”

Early Bayern team news

Bayern's trio of World Cup returnees - Harry Kane, Michael Olise, and Dayot Upamecano - are all expected to feature in some capacity, given that all three are yet to play a single minute of pre-season so far ahead of the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup on Saturday. Serge Gnabry and Lennart Karl also took part in team training on Monday, suggesting they're both available for selection after working back from long-term injuries over the summer.
