
Bayern Munich captain Manuel Neuer suffers hamstring injury
Manuel Neuer is set to miss Bayern Munich's final game of the 2025 after the club confirmed their captain had suffered a hamstring injury on Matchday 14.
Bayern announced the news following their 2-2 draw with Mainz at the Allianz Arena on Sunday, saying their skipper "suffered a torn muscle fibre in his right hamstring".
The 39-year-old has featured in all but two top-flight fixtures so far this term and is now going to miss a third game when Bayern travel to Heidenheim on Matchday 15.

Vincent Kompany's team remain unbeaten after 14 matchdays and have opened up a nine-point gap at the top of the table.
If Neuer does miss out on their final outing of 2025, Kompany will be hoping his number one returns to action in time for their first game of 2026 when they host Wolfsburg on 11 January 2026.
In the meantime, Jonas Urbig will deputise in the Bayern goal.
