Full-time: Stuttgart 3-2 Augsburg

Undav's late strike proves decisive as Stuttgart manage to hold onto their lead in the final few minutes of the game to claim all three points at the MHP Arena. After Stuttgart got off to a strong start following the break, the game fell into a bit of a lull, but the turning point was the introduction of Führich, who sparked his side's attack into life and played a part in the winning goal.

Undav - potentially the hero for Stuttgart again - has left the field with a brace to his name, and possibly the winning goal.

No hat-trick for Undav

Tomás slips Undav in behind again, who then tries to chip Dahmen. The goalkeeper holds firm and saves the follow-up as well. Nevertheless, had Undav netted it wouldn't have counted: the assistant referee had their flag raised.
86'

So close to a fourth!

Nartey breaks free down the left flank. He drills a low cross towards the near post, finding Tomás, but the Portuguese can only poke his finish wide under pressure from the onrushing Dahmen.

Undav on the stretch

Once more, Führich slips Undav through in behind the Augsburg backline. There's just too much on it and Undav has to slide to get there, but Dahmen manages to collect before the forward can get to the ball.

Undav gives his side the lead!

Stuttgart lead for the first time this evening! Again, Führich drives at the Augsburg defence. This time he lays it off to Stiller, who tees up Undav on the edge of the box. Stuttgart's No.26 then simply picks his spot and guides the ball past Dahmen at the near post.

Führich leads the charge

Since coming on, the winger has been a livewire. Most recently, he slipped Undav through on goal, whose effort was well blocked by the recovering Giannoulis.

Golden chance squandered!

What a chance to take the lead for Essende! Rieder chips a ball through into the box for Kade, who squares it to Essende. The striker is unmarked but blazes it over the bar from 12 yards under pressure from Nübel.
75'

Further changes

Hoeneß seems determined to snatch a late winner here, introducing two attacking-minded players in Nartey and Führich, for Karazor and El Khannouss. Can the substitutes be the ones to win it for the Swabians here?
73'

Dahmen smothers it

A high ball drops for El Khannouss inside the Augsburg box. The youngster hits it low on the volley through a number of Augsburg bodies. Dahmen, however, who had seen it late, manages to pull off a good stop, smothering the ball.

Physical encounter

With the sides becoming frustrated with the deadlock here, the challenges have been becoming ever more physical in the last few minutes.
71'

Cut out by Leweling

Rieder does well down the left for Augsburg before drilling a cross towards the far post. It's a dangerous ball, but Leweling was back to intercept for Stuttgart.

Assignon booked

The wide player sees yellow for a foul off the ball on Giannoulis.

Tomás enters the fray

Stuttgart's first change sees Bouanani replaced by Tomás, who will be hoping to add to his Bundesliga tally of three goals in the final 20 or so minutes here.

Plenty of chances for both sides

Neither side have shied away from pulling the trigger this evening here. With the scores level, it's actually Augsburg who have had more shots after over an hour played.

Free-kick for Augsburg

Banks is brought down by Karazor about 35 yards from goal. Rieder takes the free-kick, aiming for the top right corner. His effort isn't far away, but it's just over the top of the bar.
59'

Overhit

Karazor wins the ball back off Schlotterbeck with a fair, but physical challenge. He moves it on to Bouanani, who tries to find Assignon with a through pass, but he just puts too much on it and Dahmen comes out to claim it.
56'

Stiller penalised

Stuttgart's No.6 wins the ball back high up the pitch in a good position for his side. However, after attempting to dribble through three defenders, the ball is judged to have ricocheted off his arm Augsburg are awarded a free-kick.

Matsima booked

The defender sees yellow for impeding El Khannouss and preventing a Stuttgart counter-attack.

Roof of the net

Bouanani takes a free-kick from the left half position, around 30 yards from goal. He wrongfoots Dahmen, curling an effort towards the top right corner. It's beautifully hit, but it's just a fraction too high and lands on top of the net.
47'

Early corner

A speculative Zagadou effort from around 40 yards is deflected behind by Massengo for a corner. Stiller takes, finding Mittelstädt unmarked at the far post, who hits a sweet volley. However, Augsburg manage to get a block in and clear the danger.

Half-time: Stuttgart 2-2 Augsburg

So, both sides head in at the break all-square here at Stuttgart's MHP Arena. Augsburg got right at the hosts from the off. After capitalising on a defensive error from Jeltsch, former Stuttgart man Rieder banged in the first. Mittelstädt levelled from the spot minutes later, before a moment of madness from Nübel and Karazor at the back was punished by Massengo. Once again, Stuttgart came back, this time through Undav. Having controlled the ball for the most part, Stuttgart will feel this is theirs for the taking if they can cut out the defensive errors, but they mustn't underestimate their visitors.

Long ball strategy

Augsburg have utilised long balls over the top to great effect in this first half, as Jeltsch is still struggling to deal with them, as he did for the Fuggerstädter's first.

Undav levels it!

That's why goal-line technology exists! Stiller does fantastically to keep the ball in play inside the Augsburg box. The No.6 then digs out a cross to Undav, who flicks a header towards the far post. Dahmen got across superbly and thought he'd pulled off a miraculous save, but the ball had crossed the line and Stuttgart wheel away in celebration.

Calamitous at the back for Stuttgart. Nübel plays a ball to Karazor on the edge of his box, who tries to spin Massengo, but loses out to the Augsburg man, who immediately picks his head up and fires home. After a VAR check for a potential foul on Karazor, it's cleared and the goal stands!

Fingertips from Dahmen!

Assignon squares it the ball from the right to Undav. Under no pressure, the striker picks his spot and curls a great effort towards the bottom right corner, which Dahmen just manages to claw away from his goal. Augsburg can't give a player of Undav's quality that much space on the edge of the box...
23'

Chance for Banks

Rieder curls an inviting ball in from a right-sided corner, which Banks meets at the near post. He connects well with the header, but it's deflected behind for another corner.
21'

Acrobatic from Undav

A cross from the right finds the Stuttgart forward, who improvises brilliantly to volley it goalwards, drawing an excellent reaction save from Dahmen from close range. However, it wouldn't have stood anyway, as Undav had pushed Rexhbecaj in the build-up, and Augsburg are awarded a foul.

Dangerous cross from Mittelstädt

A good passing move for Stuttgart culminates in their No.7 whipping in a trademark cross from the left towards the far post. Matsima gets to the header first, though, and clears the danger for Augsburg.

Rieder back to haunt Stuttgart!

What a start for Augsburg! A long ball over the top is allowed to bounce by Jeltsch before Kade picks the young defender's pocket. He lets an effort fly towards the near post, which Nübel saves. The Stuttgart keeper is then called into action again by Claude-Maurice before Rieder - who spent last season on loan at Stuttgart - smashed home on the third time of asking.

Risky tackle, well executed

Leweling breaks down the left flank and bursts into the Augsburg box.
