And now Burkardt!
Mainz also have a chance to make it 2-1! Weiper plays a long pass into the path of Burkardt, who smashes the ball over the bar with his left foot.
89'
Just wide from Ekitiké!
Played in behind the defence once again, Ekitiké goes one-on-one with Rieß and produces a deft finish - that goes just the wrong side of the bar. That could so easily have been the winner - and Champions League qualifer!
88'
Rare foray for Frankfurt
Kristensen's low cross to the near post is blocked, and Mainz clears the ball.
86'
Amiri!
Mainz take their time, working the ball around the edge of the area before Amiri turns on the afterburners and breaks into the area. But, just as he goes to shoot, a Frankfurt foot puts an end to the promising move.

Burkardt goes down
The goal scorer was hit in the side by Koch's knee during an aerial duel. He shakes it off and returns to action.

Double substitution
Chaïbi and Uzun replace Bahoya and Knauff in the attacking midfield positions behind Ekitiké.

Tactical foul
Spotting Knauff about to break clear and begin a counter-attack, Amiri brings him down illegally and duly sees yellow.
69'
Ekitiké threatens
Just after breaking through the defence on a trademark run, Ekitiké is picked out by a long pass from Theate and breaks into the area. He looks to lob Rieß but his audacious effort goes just over the bar.
67'
German duo
Together with Gladbach's Kleindienst, Burkardt is the most successful German goalscorer this season (16 goals each).
65'
And Frankfurt?
The Eagles need to be more active here - they haven't bounced back since the equaliser. As things stand, qualification for the Champions League is not yet guaranteed.

Mwene denied!
The next cross from the right is met by the lively Schienenspieler, but his flying header is cleared by Koch.
61'
Sano has a crack
As Mainz grow in confidence, spurred on by a packed MEWA Arena, the Japanese player shifts into shooting position, but his aim is just wide of the near post.
59'
Mainz's main man
Mainz equalise with their first shot on goal after the break! It was Burkardt's first shot of the game – and a club record 16th goal of the season for the Germany striker.

54'
Rieß vigilant
The debuting keeper has to come out of his penalty area on the left to head away a long ball from Frankfurt – and does the job with good timing.
51'
Easy pickings
Knauff breaks down the right but crosses with more hope than accuracy – Bell is on hand to head the ball out of danger.
49'
Mainz establishing control
The home side have been moving the ball well, enjoying an extended spell in possession as they look for that first shot on target. But Frankfurt are holding up well, defending deep and looking to hit with the counter-attacking prowess they are well known for.
47'
Unchanged
Neither coach made any changes at half-time.
46'
We're back!
Frankfurt - who will qualify for the Champions League qualification if the scoreline remains the same - kick off against a Mainz side still to produce a shot on target. Can the 05ers turn this around?

Quality from Ekitiké
The Frenchman shows some dazzling feet as he surges forward on the right, but when he picks out Knauff the flag goes up for offside and the danger is dispelled.

Offside!
Lee heads home Caci's long pass from the right with the utmost applomb, guiding his effort past Trapp at his far post. But the lineman's flag goes up and the goal does not count.

Knauff!
The Frankfurt forward is teed up on the edge of the area and he goes for a spectacular volley - but blazes over.

Added time
Eight minutes are shown on the clock – not too many given the interruptions caused by Kohr's injury and Amiri's clean-up efforts!
44'
More 'fan mail' for Amiri
More black paper balls rain down on the corner but this time there's no interruption: Amiri takes the corner quickly from the right, but once again fails to find a teammate.
43'
Mainz on the attack
After taking a 1-0 lead, Eintracht have failed to create any chances, while Mainz have had three chances to level this derby up.
40'
Hungry
Hungry
Mainz are taking an average of ten seconds to regain possession after losing the ball. Frankfurt, who are waiting patiently after taking the lead, need almost twice as long.

Slide-rule pass from Nebel
As Mainz push up, Nebel produces an incredibly precise angled pass that finds Lee in a dangerous position on the edge of the area. However, the Korean's shot is blocked by Tuta.
35'
Over the top
Mainz get a dangerous corner into the middle of the area and Hanche-Olsen rises highest, but the defender's effort is wayward.

Amiri has to clean up...
...before he can take the next corner from the right: black paper balls fly out of the visitors' stand, then a plastic pole.

Handing over the armband
Widmer takes up his position on the right side of defence and gets the captain's armband from Burkardt. As he too was not expecting to come on so early, he is catching up on his warm-up on the pitch.
25'
Another defensive injury for Mainz
After Kohr, it's former Frankfurt man Da Costa's turn to pull up short and be substituted. The defender limps off with an apparent thigh injury, and is replaced by Widmer.

Nice combination
Burkardt and Nebel are combining well for the hosts, the former's presence up front creating a slipstream for the latter to bring his playmaking skills to bear. Still, the danger has been minimal so far.

Favourite victim
As he did in the reverse fixture, Kristensen scores against Mainz. Back then, it was his first Bundesliga goal; this time, it's his third.

Shake it off!
The home side now have to adjust to the shock of Kohr's injury. Mainz keep the ball moving without venturing into dangerous areas.
10'
Get well soon!
Supported by both sets of fans, ‘Hard-Kohr’ limps straight back to the dressing room. Bell replaces him in Mainz's back three.

Kohr goes down
Nasty scene: Kohr plays the ball, then slips without any contact from an opponent and twists his knee. His face contorts in pain and he shakes his head as he receives treatment – it doesn't look good at all.
8'
Underhit
Mainz win the ball from Kristensen in midfield and advances to the penalty area. But Sano's pass to the left wing lacks power and the move breaks down.
7'
Electric atmosphere
Fans of both clubs have packed the MEWA Arena and are in fine voice for this Rhine-Main derby. Visitors Frankfurt have had Mainz on the back foot looking to counter early on, but there's no way the 05ers will be sitting back today...
4'
Down the left
Frankfurt again push down the left wing. Brown gets injured in a tackle and requires brief treatment.

We're under way!
Hosts Mainz, in their traditional red strips, kick off against visitors Frankfurt in black.
Kick-off!
Not long now!
The teams are taking the pitch in Mainz. A win would secure Frankfurt's place in the Champions League ahead of schedule, while Mainz would jump past Leipzig into sixth place - and European qualification - with a three-point haul.

Watch: Mainz and Eintracht Frankfurt's Champions League dreams
Mainz not out
Bo Henriksen's side have been one of the league's surprise packages this season, and are just four points off fourth place. While the Champions League dream is still alive, they're also even close to the Europa League (two points) and Europa Conference League (one point) places, meaning their season will likely have the happy ending they're hoping for; they'll have to take points from strong Eagles side first though!
Eagles still soaring
A confident 4-0 win over Champions League chasing Leipzig has put Frankfurt in a great position to qualify for that very tournament. With just three games left it's unlikely they'll drop out of the top four, but it is still mathematically possible.

And there's still more...
Frankfurt will secure at least sixth place and a place in next season's Conference League play-offs if they draw with Mainz, OR Dortmund lose AND Bremen don't win, OR Dortmund lose AND Leipzig don't win.

Frankfurt will secure at least fifth place (and Europa League football for next season) if they win, OR they draw with Mainz AND Leipzig lose OR Dortmund don't win.
