Full-time: Holstein Kiel 0-3 Werder Bremen

In what would have been a huge three points for Kiel in their unlikely bid to avoid relegation, they ultimately fell well short. They didn't manage a shot on target in the game, and were generally poor in possession. Werder Bremen didn't have to create too much to come away with the win, but were solid defensively and clinical up top.

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
Kiel have had more of the ball these past few minutes, consequently closing the xG gap.

Half-time: Holstein Kiel 0-1 Werder Bremen

The hosts have struggled in this first half, causing Bremen almost no problems at the back. They've been poor with the ball, and have looked frustrated out of it, picking up unnecessary yellow cards throughout the half. For all their possession, Bremen haven't created as many clear-cut chances as they'd like, and are ahead thanks to a piece of real quality from Ducksch.

Rapp's view on Bremen

"Anything can happen, especially in games involving Holstein Kiel. Bremen are a very structured team with clearly defined movement patterns, both with and without the ball. On the one hand that maybe makes it a bit ‘easier’, in inverted commas, to prepare the team to face them, but on the other hand you can’t prepare for everything as a coach.”
camera-photo

Werner's view on Kiel

"I follow Holstein Kiel as closely as any other Bundesliga club. I still live in the area and know a lot of people who work there. But we have our own issues to deal with and it will be important for us to take the three points there. Having said that, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for Kiel that after this game it will be a successful season for them."
