Watch: Kobel: "Ryerson's goal was unbelievable!"

camera-photo

Full-time: Hoffenheim 1-3 Dortmund

A brilliant night for Dortmund as, not only do they pick up all three points, they move to the top of the Bundesliga table! After Kramarić cancelled out Füllkrug's opener, Reus scored on the stroke of half-time to restore the advantage. Bensebaini's red card threatened to derail his side's hard work, but Ryerson's stunning solo run and finished secured the win.

Ryerson clinches the three points!

What a run from the Norwegian, who wins the ball in his own third before running the length of the pitch and slotting the ball between Baumann's legs! That should be that now!

xGoals
The xGoals value of a club is calculated from the sum of all goal probabilities (goals and shots on goal) of that team. During a match, it’s easy to see whether the club is performing better than expected (goals > xGoals) - or maybe even higher (xGoals > goals).
Hoffenheim are well ahead in terms of xG, but it is their opponents who are ahead.

Half-time: Hoffenheim 1-2 Dortmund

The visitors are in front as we catch our breaths. Füllkrug's first Dortmund goal gave the hosts the advantage, but Kramarić equalised from the penalty spot shortly after. However, just as it seemed the two sides would be on level terms at the break, Reus stepped up to the plate.

Dortmund team news

BVB boss Edin Terzić has only made one change to his team following last week's victory over Wolfsburg: Donyell Malen comes in for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who drops to the bench.

More on those teams

Hoffenheim are without two of the players that helped them defeat Union Berlin last week, with Pavel Kadeřábek and Wout Weghorst both absent from today's squad. Ihlas Bebou comes into the side for the former, while Florian Grillitsch is in central midfield, pushing Andrej Kramarić further forward.

Hoffenheim flying after tough beginning

Hoffenheim looked to be in trouble after having played 75 minutes of their second Bundesliga match of the campaign against Heidenheim. They kicked off the season with a disappointing 2-1 defeat at home to Freiburg, and with a quarter of an hour remaining versus newly-promoted FCH, they found themselves staring down the barrel of consecutive losses as they trailed 2-0. However, a stunning turnaround at the Voith-Arena clinched all three points, and a trio of subsequent victories have seen them go on a four-match winning run which has moved them up to fifth in the table. Like tonight's opponents, another triumph here will see them leap to the table's summit ahead of the weekend's remaining action.
camera-photo

Dortmund's solid, if unspectacular, start

It was always going to be hard for Dortmund to bounce back after missing out on the title in such dramatic fashion last season, but they can be relatively pleased with their start to the campaign. Although they won just one of their opening three Bundesliga encounters, they remained unbeaten, and back-to-back triumphs since then have left them just two points adrift of league-leaders Bayern.

Matarazzo: "Dortmund are one of the best teams in the Bundesliga"

His Hoffenheim counterpart, Pellegrino Matarazzo, meanwhile, was quick to praise Die Schwarzgelben as he addressed the media. "BVB have not lost a match in the Bundesliga this season and were almost champions last season - it is not appropriate to talk about weaknesses. Dortmund are one of the best teams in the Bundesliga, that needs to be, and is recognised."

Terzic: "We are preparing for a close game"

Borussia Dortmund manager Edin Terzic is expecting a tough encounter with Die Kraichgauer, but is clearly feeling more confident after his side's recent domestic form. "Hoffenheim have had a good run. They are dangerous in counterattacking situations and also in the aftermath of standards," he said in his pre-match press conference. "We are preparing for a close game. After the two wins in recent weeks, we go there with a broader chest."

Hoffenheim team news

With Stanley Nsoki and Florian Grillitsch carrying knocks, Pellegrino Matarazzo will likely stick with the team that won 2-0 in Berlin. Can Maximilian Beier build on his his team-leading four goals for the season? Will the in-form Andrej Kramarić add to his eight goals in 12 career meetings with BVB?
camera-photo

Dortmund team news

BVB are still without Marcel Sabitzer, Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey, but Belgian talent Julien Duranville could return to the squad following injury. Felix Nmecha and Marco Reus are expected to continue in the side, but Jamie Bynoe-Gittens may have to make do with a place on the bench after being rotated in for Donyell Malen last time out. Niclas Füllkrug and Sebastien Haller will vie for the lone striker's role.

Dortmund's favourite opponent

Dortmund have won five of their last six Bundesliga meetings with Hoffenheim, collecting 16 from a possible 18 points - their best return of all teams they've faced across the last three seasons.
