Coach view: Eintracht

Oliver Glasner: "We’re playing at home, haven’t won in a long time and want to celebrate a home victory. We need to be more ambitious when facing the opponents’ goal and be prepared to take a few more risks going forward.”

Coach view: Augsburg

Enrico Maaßen: “We don’t want to look too much above or below ourselves in the table. We have to pick up points. Frankfurt are not in a good period at the moment, but they are still a team that have played in the Champions League [this season]."

Frankfurt: personnel

Randal Kolo Muani (pictured) remains very much Frankfurt's danger man. He may only have scored twice in his last six games but eight of his 13 goals this term have come on home turf. Evan Ndicka, Philipp Max and Kristijan Jakic all remain out, but attacking midfielder Jesper Lindström could be in line for a return after missing the last six Bundesliga games with an ankle injury.

Frankfurt: form

The Eagles' 4-0 loss at Dortmund last weekend was their eighth straight league match without a win, although they did put in an impressive performance to beat Union Berlin 2-0 in the DFB Cup quarter-finals at the start of April. Given their European aspirations, Frankfurt will need to return to winning ways soon if they are to enjoy more continental adventures next term.

Augsburg: personnel

The big news for Augsburg is the ongoing absence of top scorer and Germany international Mergim Berisha (pictured), who missed out last week with an ankle complaint. Dion Beljo is set to replace him up top, while first-choice goalkeeper Rafal Gikiewicz remains sidelined alongside Iago, Frederik Jensen and Andre Hahn.

Augsburg: form

The Bavarian side have hit a rough patch at just the wrong time of the season and are currently without a win in their last six Bundesliga games (D3 L3). That has left them dangerously close to the relegation zone, just five points clear of VfB Stuttgart in the play-off place. They have not enjoyed too much success on their travels this term, taking just 11 points from a possible 42.

Frankfurt: probable XI

Trapp - Tuta, Hasebe, Lenz - Buta, Rode (c), Sow, Knauff - Borre, Götze - Kolo Muani

Augsburg: probable XI

Koubek - Bauer, Gouweleeuw (c), Uduokhai - Gumny, Engels, Rexhbecaj, Pedersen - Maier, Demirovic - Beljo

Augsburg: out

Berisha (knock), Gikiewicz (shoulder), Hahn (knee), Iago (thigh), Jensen (ankle), Oxford (fitness), Strobl (cruciate ligament)

Watch: Augsburg 1-1 VfB Stuttgart - highlights

Wataru Endo scored a precious late equaliser to earn VfB Stuttgart a draw against Augsburg in their relegation six-pointer in the Matchday 29 opener.

Travel sick

Augsburg have picked up just two points from their last 10 away matches - their longest such winless sequence in their Bundesliga history.

Natural born predator

With 23 direct goal involvements (13 scored, 10 assists) Randal Kolo Muani is the most dangerous attacker in the Bundesliga this season.

Aerial chances?

Only Bochum (13) have conceded more headed goals this season than Frankfurt's 12, with Augsburg just one further behind. Enrico Maaßen's side have scored fewer headed goals (four) than everyone else.

Impressive run

Frankfurt head coach Oliver Glasner is unbeaten in seven games against Augsburg, overseeing three wins and four draws, conceding just three goals in the process.

Familiar face

Philipp Max made a name for himself at Augsburg, scoring 15 goals in 145 Bundesliga outings before joining PSV Eindhoven in September 2020. The 29-year-old has impressed since joining Frankfurt this year, but will miss out here through injury.

Dry patch to end?

Frankfurt are without a win in their last eight Bundesliga matches, earning just four of a possible 24 points across that period. Augsburg, meanwhile, are winless in their last six games (D3 L3).
