WATCH: DANIEL FARKE - "I'M REALLY HAPPY"
GLADBACH GO TOP !
Game over at Borussia-Park where a Plea penalty is enough for the hosts to earn their second win of the season. That's seven points from three games for Gladbach, who take provisional pole in the standings following a solid start to the campaign under new coach Farke. Hofmann's second half penalty miss proved a mere annoyance for the victorious hosts. Hertha, meanwhile, await their first win of the new Bundesliga season.
A Jovetic header goes THIS close to going in at the corner. The fans look down to see the assistant's flag raised. It wouldn't have counted had it crept in.
HOFMANN MAKES WAY
Hofmann comes off hoping his penalty miss won't prove costly as Wolf enters the action for his first Bundesliga appearance of the season.

Hertha are in a dangerous position following a corner. Jovetic sweeps a cross-shot towards the far post. Boateng slides in and is very close to connecting. The ball fizzes wide.
Neuhaus goes down in the box under a challenge from Mittelstädt but there's nothing for Gladbach there and Hertha mount an attack of their own ...
Hertha are giving this one last big go. Among their double substitution here is a 149th Bundesliga appearance for Kevin-Prince Boateng. Is there to be a royal finish for the Old Lady?
Thuram latches onto the through ball and has a great chance to double the Foals' lead. Christensen makes a big save.
Jonas Hofmann Dodi Lukébakio
DARDAI HAS A LOOK
Subs Boetius and Dardai combine from a free kick, the latter attempting a glancing header at goals that doesn't quite work out.
Florian Neuhaus goes down in the Hertha box. The home fans roar for a third pen. The referee says nothing doing.
HOFMANN'S UNWANTED STAT
Not great news for Jonas Hofmann then, with the Gladbach man now having missed two of his six penalties in the Bundesliga.
CHRISTENSEN SAVES PEN!
Amazing. The Hertha goalkeeper keeps Hofmann's weak spot kick out and the capital side remain in this game.
HERTHA DOWN TO 10
The unfortunate Uremovic is shown a second yellow and off he goes. Big problem for Hertha with a spot kick to come.
PENALTY NO. 2 FOR GLADBACH
We go to a VAR review after Filip Uremovic appears to handle the ball in the Gladbach box. It's a second penalty of the match for the hosts.
Second yellow card
Situation No penalty
Lovely build-up from Borussia and the ball arrives at the feet of Hofmann, who takes aim .... Mittelstädt makes a crucial block and the visitors survive.
Hofmann looks like he's broken the offside trap and lifts a lovely finish over Christensen, who had come way off his line. To the 'keeper's relief, the Gladbach man had not, indeed, broken the offside trap.
Situation No goal
Decision No goal
IN COMES BOETIUS
Hertha's recent signing from Mainz, Jean-Paul Boetius, is on for Sunjic as the visitors look to add even more pace to their attack ...
For the umpteenth time tonight, Lukebakio blazes into the area and looks to flick a square pass to Kanga. Itakura makes a decisive block and Gladbach are out of danger.
The game has hit a slight lull and it looks like we're about to see some action from the benches here ...
Chidera Ejuke picks up possession from a corner and makes his way forward before thumping high and wide of the target.
GLADBACH ON THE BALL
Dodi Lukebakio and Wilfried Kanga each had three shots on goal for Hertha in the first half. Can the forwards combine to bring their team back into this game or will Gladbach increase their lead? Let's find out ...
OFF WE GO AGAIN !
Hertha get the second half underway ...
WHAT A HALF !
Phew! That was dramatic. Somehow we only have a goal to show for an opening 45 minutes that was littered with chances at both ends. Plea's penalty has the hosts in front but stay tuned, this one surely has more drama to come.
Hofmann sends in a very inviting free kick and Oliver Christensen fancies claiming. The keeper misses completely with his fists and is lucky to see the ball bounce wide.
HERTHA IN AGAIN
Lukebakio is inside the home box one more time but after some fine close control, he fails to keep his composure and blasts off target.
The ball bounces up invitingly inside the Gladbach area and Wilfried Kanga is having a look, with his back to goal. An overhead kick has the away fans ooh-ing and ah-ing but Sommer smothers the ball and the chance passes.
PLEA OFF THE MARK
Alassane Plea has now converted his last four penalties in the Bundesliga. The 29-year-old is finally off the mark in 2022/23.
Interesting to note that this is the first time Gladbach have led in the Bundesliga this season.
The Hertha man was booked for trying to put off the penalty taker before he struck his spot kick a short time ago.
PLEA ON POINT
Calm as you like from Plea, whose penalty just evades Christensen's hand and rattles the back of the net. The hosts lead.
Hofmann's cross is high and so is Maximilian Mittelstädt's arm, which the ball connects with. The referee points to the spot ....
Speed check: The fastest player in the game after 30 minutes
Dodi Lukebakio menaces out right and engineers himself a shot. Sommer dives forward and gets two fists to the ball. The home goalkeeper will be keen to see some photos from this game when we're done.
Hofmann slips in possession and Chidera Ejuke is away. The CSKA Moscow loanee ignites the jets and takes aim. His shot is at a nice height for Sommer who winks at the cameras before parrying that one away.
COOL HAND CHRISTENSEN
A Gladbach corner. It's flicked towards goal and Christensen keeps it out. Thuram is there on the follow up and Christensen makes one of those miraculous reflex stops that leaves you scratching your head as to how the ball stayed out.

SOMMER IN CHARGE
Kanga drills a low one at the Gladbach target but Sommer will gobble those up all night. Tousart then fires wide from distance. It's shoot on sight for Hertha here.
Ramy Bensebaini lines up what he hopes will be a top corner shot, but he doesn't hit it quite right and Christensen saves with ease.
Ko Itakura's picked up a bloody lip following a challenge but the Gladbach No. 3 is made of strong stuff and soldiers on.
SPECTACULAR START !
Plea wriggles through and sees his shot take a slight deflection before hitting the woodwork for the hosts. This game is officially on fire.
Nice from Chidera Ejuke who stops the ball from rolling out for a goal kick, cuts back outside and wallops a shot off target. Decent start for the visitors.
HERTHA GO CLOSE
What pace ! Dodi Lukebakio bounds through the Gladbach defence and is in on goal against Sommer. The subsequent shot is wellied wide.
GAME ON !
The in-form Thuram gets the ball rolling and we are GO in Gladbach.
TEAMS OUT !
Borussia-Park is ROCKING ! The teams are out on the pitch and we're all set to get going on Matchday 3 of the Bundesliga! Settle in.

Hertha have lost seven of their last nine Bundesliga games in Mönchengladbach (W1, D1).
Gladbach defenders Ramy Bensebaini, Ko Itakura, Nico Elvedi all had to train individually earlier in the week due to minor knocks, but captain Lars Stindl is expected to make the matchday squad for the first time this Bundesliga season following a thigh complaint. Hertha have a much lengthier absentee list, and could also be without Myziane Maolida and Marvin Plattenhardt.
