SO CLOSE!

Cologne almost pinch it at the death as Thielmann breaks away. His shot is blocked behind by Upamecano but that was inches away.

JUST NOT ENOUGH

Sorloth's header down to Forsberg in front of goal is a fine one, but he can't control the ball as he falls down and Cologne clear.
84'

HALSTENBERG BOOKED

The first yellow card for either side today as Halstenberg brings down Wolf.
82'

ATTACKING MOVE

18-year-old Borkowski comes on to replace Kampl here for the final 10 minutes or so. He was the only German nominated for this year's Golden Boy award.
80'

OLMO HAS A GO!

A shot from range by Olmo bounces just in front of Horn but he does enough to keep it out with his defence coming to clear the loose ball after his initial save.
camera-photo

ONE OF THOSE DAY FOR RB!

Leipzig have failed to score just once at home in the Bundesliga in 2020, could Cologne be about to keep them out here?
73'

SOMEHOW KEPT OUT!

Orban and Mukiele almost get in each other's way as they go to head a cross into the goal. Horn somehow keeps it out and Mere is there to clear the ball away from in front of goal.
72'

CAPTAIN HECTOR ON

The returning Germany international is on here for the final 20 minutes or so, in place of Drexler.
71'

OLMO-ST!

The Spaniard has a shot blocked but Angelino recovers possession and hands it back to his fellow countryman. He curls a shot for the far corner but it bounces just wide across goal.

HUGE CHANCE!

Finally Leipzig work an opening with superb interplay. Mukiele is found in behind the Cologne defence and he cuts the ball back for Kampl around the penalty spot. He goes for goal first-time but sends a left-footed shot high and wide.
64'

0-0 ON THE CARDS?

This would be the first game involving Cologne which has ended 0-0 since their most recent promotion to the Bundesliga in 2019.
62'

ANOTHER CHANGE

Sorloth comes on for Leipzig, replacing Haidara and bringing back that central striker presence.
60'

COLOGNE'S DEFENSIVE EFFORTS

As much as Leipzig appear to be lacking a spark in attack, credit must be given to Cologne for their defensive efforts here. There's been no chance for Leipzig to get in behind the Cologne defence so far in this second half.
56'

FIRST CHANCE!

Leipzig break forward with Angelino down the left again. He plays the ball back to the edge where Forsberg is waiting, but he just snatches at his shot from his left foot, dragging the ball wide across Horn and the goal.

LEIPZING ON THE FRONT FOOT

PICKING UP AGAIN

Leipzig are on the ball and keeping Cologne deep in their own half here. It's all going one way, but again, Cologne's defence is staying disciplined and making life difficult for the home side.
50'

FORSBERG LEADING THE LINE

The half-time substitute has take up Poulsen's position as the lone striker but he has Olmo and Haidara in close support.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY

The ball is rolling again and two new faces are on for Leipzig. Olmo and Forsberg replacing Sabitzer and Poulsen at half-time.

BIG CHANCE!

A big opportunity for Cologne on the counter. Katterbach's swinging cross beats Upamecano and reaches Drexler but he isn't expecting it, and the ball ends up rolling out of play off his foot.
38'

NAGELSMANN NOT IMPRESSED

Leipzig have had seven shots to Cologne's one and four corners already to none for the away side. It's been dominant from the home side, but still the scores are level. Nagelsmann is urging his team to change that before the break.
36'

ANGELINO AGAIN!

Leipzig intercept a Cologne pass out from the back and Angelino is sent in behind. Horn races off his line to meet him and he parries his shot away. Chances opening up for the home side now.
33'

HUGE CHANCE!

Haidara wins the ball from Katterbach and crosses from the left. Angelino is on the end of it and hits a shot at goal but Mere makes a crucial block to keep it out. That was the most clear-cut chance the home side have had.

BIG CHANCE!

It's Haidara again who almost has Leipzig ahead. Kampl races behind the Cologne defence on the right and his cross is miscued by Skhiri with the loose ball falling to Haidara. He fires a shot at the near post but can only find the side-netting.
25'

CHANCES HARD TO COME BY

Leipzig are struggling to find a way through Cologne's compact defence here so far. The away dropping in with two lines of four for most of this game, and themselves looking to break on the counter-attack when possible. You feel like a goal, either way, will open this game right up!
18'

MUKIELE IN ATTACK

Leipzig so dominant in the Cologne half so far that Mukiele is pushing right up the field as a right winger. That's allowing Haidara to drift into the middle alongside Sabitzer and cause confusion in the Cologne defence.
16'

COLOGNE HAVING MORE OF THE BALL

Leipzig have dropped off slightly, letting Cologne attempt to come out from the back. Cologne have had very few touches - if any at all - in the Leipzig half here despite having more of the possession so far.

CLOSE AGAIN!

A corner causes some confusion for Cologne with Horn only able to clear as far as Haidara, who heads the ball straight back in. Orban is first too it with his back to goal but he can only slightly nudge the ball on towards goal and luckily for Cologne, Horn is there to gather.
12'

SPREADING THE PLAY

Leipzig are looking to make the pitch as wide as possible here, switching the play consistently from left to right and vice versa with very little direct passing through the middle.
10'

MUKIELE HEADS WIDE

Haidara's switch of play finds Angelino in space on the left flank. He hits a cross to the back post and Mukiele has a free header which he can't angle on goal. Leipzig continuing to push forward with every opportunity here.
9'

SAME FOR LEIPZIG

It's also a 4-2-3-1 for Leipzig here with Halstenberg at left-back and Angelino right up on the left wing.
6'

FOUR-MAN DEFENCE

Marius Wolf has dropped in at right-back here for Cologne, with Katterbach on the other side. It's a 4-3-3 for Cologne, which is moving to a 4-1-4-1 when they're out of possession.
5'

LEIPZIG FLYING

Angelino's cross is almost put home by Poulsen here with Leipzig flying forward in numbers. Cologne making a slow start to this one.
3'

GOAL RULED OUT!

Angelino intercepts Horn's pass out from the back and finds Poulsen in space. He in turn sends Sabitzer into the box whose pass across goal is tapped in by Haidara but the offside flag is up on the far side. Video-Assist has confirmed the correct decision was made.

Leipzig work the ball down the right with Haidara and Poulsen exchanging passes. Haidara is the one to have the shot from the right corner of the penalty area, but Horn can beat that away.

HERE WE GO!

The home side get things underway here in Leipzig.
Kick-off!

MINUTE'S SILENCE

We'll have a minute's silence here in Leipzig to commemorate the great Gerard Houllier, who passed away this week. The French coach worked for RB Leipzig over the years since 2012.

KICK-OFF COMING UP!

We're fast-approaching the kick-off here in Leipzig with the home side welcoming Cologne for the final Bundesliga game of 2020 for these twi sides.

MASTER VS. APPRENTICE

As assistant coach to Gisdol, Nagelsmann helped former club Hoffenheim avoid relegation in 2013/14, thanks to a final-day win over Borussia Dortmund. Gisdol was unbeaten in three career meetings with Nagelsmann, before last season when Cologne lost home and away to Leipzig.

COLOGNE'S MINI-REVIVAL

The Billy Goats had gone three games without defeat before their midweek thrashing at the hands of Leverkusen. A win at Dortmund, draw against Wolfsburg and then second win against Mainz had Markus Gisdol's side heading up the table. Can they end 2020 with another headline-making away win?

LEIPZIG'S MEAN DEFENCE

Julian Nagelsmann side have the best defence in the Bundesliga this season, conceding just nine goals through 12 games so far this season. They've also conceded the fewest shots, while goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi has the best save percentage of any goalkeeper in the league.

WATCH: LEIPZIG ENJOYED COLOGNE'S LAST VISIT

LEIPZIG TEAM NEWS

Olmo leads the way for team assists and compatriot Angelino for goals, while Poulsen scored for the second straight game in the midweek win at Hoffenheim, but the former is only on the bench. Defender Halstenberg is rotated back in, but Roma-owned forward Kluivert and Konate are both out. Adams has earned a start, while Sorloth is on the bench.

COLOGNE TEAM NEWS

Captain Hector made his return to the squad for the first time since Matchday 2, and his experience could come in particularly useful in Leipzig from the bench. Gisdol can also welcome back playmaker Duda from suspension, for another shot in his team's arm. With two goals and as many assists, the Slovakian has had a direct hand in more goals than any of his teammates so far this term, despite playing as a forward in his last two outings. Striker Andersson, Jakobs and Cestic suffered late injuries in training and are all missing.
