HERTHA FRUSTRATING THEIR HOSTS

This could be the perfect snatch and grab win from Hertha. Just a single shot three shots on target in this second half, and two of them played a role in the goal which looks like winning this game.
82'

LEVERKUSEN ON THE BALL...

Possession is all Leverkusen's here in the final 10 minutes, but the home side can't do anything with the ball. A lack of movement in attack and some good pressing from Hertha is halting them in their tracks.
79'

PAULINHO... NO!

The Brazilian winger thinks he has his second Bundesliga goal but the flag is raised on the far side. He was just offside when the ball was played through to him.
74'

KÖPKE SO CLOSE TO A GOAL

The young substitute is played in one-on-one with Hradecky by Wolf but waits far too long before going for goal. He's within two yards of the Leverkusen No.1 when he attempts to chip him, with Hradecky making a good save.
72'

TWO UP TOP NOW

It looks like Kevin Volland has now joined Lucas Alario to lead the Leverkusen attack from the front. With Diaby and Paulinho on either wing, it leaves Amiri and Aranguiz in the centre of the pitch.

THIS GAME IS OPENING UP

The first two shots on goal of the second half bring a goal and a fantastic save. Leverkusen are going to have to force their way forward now in search of an equaliser with 20 minutes remaining, while Hertha can stick to their faithful counter-attack.
65'

VOLLAND FORCES AN INCREDIBLE SAVE!

Diaby does well to get to the Hertha byline before dinking the ball to the back post and Volland. He powers a header at goal and thinks he has Leverkusen level, but Jarstein's left hand reaches up to put the ball onto the roof of his own net with an incredible save.
64'

REKIK OPENS THE SCORING!

The defender stays up the pitch having brought the ball forward before possession was lost. Hertha recycle it and Dilrosun finds Rekik on the edge of the box. His first shot is saved but rebounds straight back to him and he makes no mistakes with the second attempt with the Leverkusen defence unable to recover.

TAH KEEPING SELKE QUIET

The beasty Leverkusen centre-back has won eight of his 11 challenges with Davie Selke so far, keeping the Hertha striker quiet so far in this game. Vedad Ibisevic could be an alternative from the bench for Klinsmann.
56'

DEFINING MIDFIELD BATTLE

Neither side has been able to find space in the final third so far with the ball staying around the centre of the pitch for much of this second half so far. A credit to either side's defence, but the attacking impetus is lacking so far for both sides.
47'

SELKE DOWN

The Hertha striker has taken a knock to the back after an aerial challenge with Sven Bender. He's up and moving gingerly now, and should be able to carry on.
46'

BACK UNDERWAY

The second half is underway in Leverkusen and we've had a change for the home side. Panagiotis Retsos is on at the break for club captain Lars Bender.

45'

DIABY DOMINATING

The Leverkusen winger is having a solid first half here having had five shots on goal and won 10 of the 12 challenges he has contested. Most of Leverkusen's successful attacking play has come down the right flank.
38'

END-TO-END HERE

Both sides are using their pace in attack to push the game, but neither has been able to produce real shots on goal in the last 10 minutes. Diaby has been the game's biggest threat to breaking the deadlock, but he's just not had the ball fall for him properly in front of goal thus far.
29'

GRUJIC BRINGS DOWN DIABY

The Hertha midfielder is the first to be shown a yellow card today after bringing down Moussa Diaby. That's his fifth of the season, so he'll miss the last game of the year at the weekend.
22'

SELKE FORCES A SAVE

Lukebakio finds Klünter on the underlap and he plays Selke in behind Sven Bender. He closes to Hradecky at the near post before smashing a shot at goal, but the Leverkusen 'keeper puts out a big hand to parry the ball away.
20'

HUGE OPENING FOR DILROSUN

There's that Hertha counter-attack we were talking about as Darida sends Dilrosun away on goal. He has a defender to his right so can't move further inside, so shoots across goal on his favoured left foot but drags it just inches wide of the mark.
18'

BIG CHANCE FOR ALARIO

The striker is played in on goal by Sinkgraven from the left and brings the ball onto his right foot as he closes on goal from a tight angle in the left side of the box. He shoots for the far bottom corner, but Jarstein makes a big save to deny him.
16'

HERTHA SETTLING

Not the best start here for the away side with Selke, Dilrosun and Lukebakio hardly having a touch of the ball in the opening 15 minutes. With the game settling down, the capital club are looking to get those attacking threats involved, but it's still proving difficult.
10'

VOLLAND'S TURN

Plattenhardt's loose pass is picked up by Amiri in midfield and he finds Volland on the left. He has support in the middle but the forward goes at goal alone, hitting the side-netting of the Hertha goal at the near post.
9'

DIABY WORKS HIS WAY

The French winger is out on the right wing today and collects possession from there. He cuts inside on his favoured left foot, teasing a defender as he does so before shooting at the near post. Jarstein is able to tip the ball around the post, though.
6'

LEVERKUSEN LACKING MIDFIELD LINK

We're only in the early stages here, but Leverkusen's tactic of playing just Aranguiz in the centre of midfield is proving a tough one for them to work with. Hertha have been able to set-up with a flat back four in midfield and defence and keep them quiet so far.

AWAY WE GO!

The game is underway in Leverkusen. Our early game in Bremen yesterday saw four goals in the first half, and three of them were from Robin Quaison of Mainz. What will get today?
Kick-off!

BIG CHANCE FOR BAYER

The home side can rise up to fifth in the table before the rest of the games to come this evening. Leverkusen currently sit 7th in the table, while Hertha are 14th and just three points about the relegation play-off spot.

ATTACK THE BEST FORM OF DEFENCE?

Lucas Alario, Kevin Volland, Kai Havertz, Moussa Diaby and Nadiem Amiri all start tonight for Leverkusen with only Charles Aranguiz as a defensive selection in midfield. Jonathan Tah returns to replace Alexsandar Dragovic after his red card against Cologne, while Leon Bailey is also suspended for the next three Bundesliga matches.

HERTHA ATTACKING THE WINGS

Per Skjelbred has come in for Vedad Ibisevic to bring more stability to the Hertha midfield for Jürgen Klinsmann, while Javairo Dilrosun and Dodi Lukebakio both start on the wings with Hertha looking to make the most of their potential on the counter. The German coach also has plenty of options on the bench with not a single first-team player ruled out with injury.

THE FIRST OF OUR WEDNESDAY GAMES

We're at the BayArena first up for the first of five games this evening in the Bundesliga. Bayer Leverkusen are looking to bounce back from their Rhinederby defeat to Cologne at the weekend, while Hertha Berlin want to build from their 1-0 win over Freiburg last time out.
