Full-time! Nuremberg 2-1 Hannover

Nuremberg stay unbeaten thanks to Zoma's second-half strike. Deserved winners in the end, they move on to 13 points from a possible 15. Hannover remain in the lower third of the table, on four points.

Not far away

Zoma loses the ball, but Haugen picks it up and fizzes a shot just wide of the post from 15 yards. It's all Nuremberg...
81'

Hannover struggling

The Reds have offered very little since falling behind for the second time. Right now, another Nuremberg goal looks the more likely.
79'

Club record

Nuremberg have now scored 15 goals after five matches - a new club record in 58 years of professional football. Der Club's previous best was 14 goals after five matches of the inaugural Bundesliga season in 1963/64.

Into the book

Neubauer is cautioned after bringing down the fleet-footed Zoma.

Off target!

Hartel receives a pass from Gindorf and sends a cross towards the far post. Neubauer is lurking, but can't steer the ball on target from inside the six-yard area.

Nuremberg back in front!

There it is! Zoma starts the move as Porstner has a shot blocked, before finishing with aplomb on the rebound. That's his fifth league goal of the season, putting him level at the top of the scoring charts with Fürth's Felix Klaus.

Bøving!

The substitute drives forward and has a crack from range, but it goes just wide of the upright.
63'

Klose's first change

Bøving comes on to give the Hannover defence something different to think about.
56'

Off the post!

Scobel meets Becker's cross and beats Weinkauf with his header, but not the woodwork.
55'

First change

Titz refreshes his attack, with Husseyn Chakroun on for his third substitute appearance of the Bundesliga 2 season.

Turning up the heat

Der Club are pinning Hannover back in their own half and applying considerable pressure early in the second half.

Under way again

No changes at the break in Nuremberg.
Kick-off!

Half-time: Nuremberg 1-1 Hannover

All square after those early goals from Justvan and Gindorf, though both sides have had chances since.

43'

Tame effort

Porstner crosses for Scobel, who heads straight at Weinkauf from 14 yards. Not sure the Hulk would have mustered the neck power needed to score from there.
0:14

Nice idea

Justvan lets Zoma's pass run through to Scobel, but his shot lacks the power to seriously trouble Weinkauf. Nuremberg are on top right now.
35'

Justvan takes aim

Weinkauf is at full stretch to prevent Justvan adding his second of the day with a first-time shot from the edge of the penalty area.
33'

Chance!

Oudenne crosses from the right and finds Tomiak, but he can only direct his header into the side netting.
32'

Second caution

Scobel joins Nuremberg teammate Becker in the book after pulling back Tomiak.

Goals on the road

Hannover have now scored in 23 consecutive away league games. Only Wattenscheid have put together a longer run in Bundesliga 2 matches (24, 1987/88).
29'

Dangerous corner

Markhiyev whips in a corner from the right, but neither Scobel nor Kalogeropoulos can turn it goalwards.
20'

Woodwork!

Taibi, lying on the ground, somehow manages to play the ball across the box to Hartel, whose 14-yard effort clips the top off the crossbar on its way over.

Penalty king

Gindorf scored from the spot against Darmstadt last weekend, and also converted all 10 of his penalty attempts in 3. Liga last season.
0:21

Close!

Hannover are playing with fire at the back! Once again the visitors make a mistake in the build-up, allowing Scobel to get on the ball and unleash a shot from the right hand-side of the box that whistles narrowly wide.
9'

Gindorf in top form

Including his DFB Cup hat-trick, the Hannover man now has six goals in six competitive appearances this season, following a record 28-goal 3. Liga campaign on loan at Aachen last term.

Equaliser!

Reichert goes the right way, but Gindorf's spot-kick has too much power and precision. Game on!

Penalty for Hannover!

Kalogeropoulos handles Hartel's right-wing cross, and the referee points straight to the spot...

Early lead!

Nuremberg press high early on and force an error from the visitors in the build-up. Justvan finds himself free in the area, but is denied by Weinkauf. However, Leinestädter gifts possession straight back to the Nuremberg forward, who finds the bottom corner from 13 yards out.

Kick-off!

Teams out

Match referee Florian Lechner leads out the two sets of players, with kick-off just moments away.

Pichler starts

Forward Mustapha Bundu is ruled out due to a muscle injury, so in comes Benedict Pichler in the only change to Hannover's 2-2 draw with Karlsruhe.

Nuremberg unchanged

Miroslav Klose names the same side that started the 2-2 draw with Holstein Kiel. Will Mohamed Alì Zoma get back among the goals after scoring four times across Matchdays 1-2, before going goalless in the next two?

Miroslav Klose on facing Hannover

"We need to take the lessons from the Kiel match with us. There were good things in it, but also less good ones, which won't go unpunished against Hannover. They always have a good set-piece presence in the box and defend solidly."

Christian Titz on facing Nuremberg

"We are playing against a good side. They have refined their style of play, have added quality players to their squad and have made a strong start to the season. It will be important in to bring the right balance to the game, combining high-intensity pressing with a dominance that you impose on the match."

Traditional clash

Nuremberg and Hannover have both been champions of Germany (Nuremberg nine times, Hannover twice) and DFB Cup winners, with each side having played over 1,000 Bundesliga matches. Since they were both relegated in 2019, they have been unsuccessfully trying to return to the top flight.

Can Zoma haunt Hannover again?

When Nuremberg won 2-1 against Hannover last season, Mohamed Ali Zoma scored the winning goal - and he then netted twice in Hannover in the 3-3 draw.

Bad memories

The match brings back bitter memories of the final day of last season for Hannover fans. Their side were leading 3-2 through a Lochoshvili own goal, but just before the final whistle, the defender scored at the right end to make it 3-3, and as a result Christian Titz's side missed out on the play-off by the narrowest of margins, as Paderborn leapfrogged them into third.
