Two new faces on the Magdeburg bench

Daniel Heber (pictured) is fit again and in the squad for the first time since early November. Alongside him on the bench are Felix Vogler and Albert Millgramm, both of whom are included in the first team squad for the first time having been regular starters for the U23s in the Regionalliga, Petrik Sander's former team. Vogler is a full-back, while Millgramm, an attacking winger, has already accumulated 10 goal contributions this season.

Petrik Sander on facing Lautern

"We're heading to the Betzenberg with optimism, but also with respect. We want to stick to our philosophy in this game too, but our opponents will be ready to pounce on our mistakes."
camera-photo

Torsten Lieberknecht on facing Magdeburg

"They've always been a very tough side. We're aware of their strengths and weaknesses, but we also want to make one or two changes to our own attacking game. We want to push ourselves to our limits once more and deliver a tireless performance."

Decisive Atik

Baris Atik decided the last encounter in April 2025, scoring both goals in Magdeburg's 2-0 home victory. Atik played his first 12 matches in Bundesliga 2 in the 2017/18 season for Kaiserslautern, without any goal contributions and or a win (three draws, nine defeats).

Goal-filled encounters

The six Bundesliga 2 meetings between these teams have seen a total of 26 goals scored, split 15-11 in Magdeburg's favour.

Mostly draws at the Betzenberg

Five of the six competitive matches at the Fritz Walter Stadion have ended in draws. A 4-1 home win in May 2024 means the Red Devils remain unbeaten at home against Magdeburg.
