Conclusion
A deserved share of the points in the promotion race. Magdeburg had more possession, especially at the beginning, and repeatedly managed to combine their way into the penalty area. However, they lacked the cutting edge there. For Hannover, it was corners that led to bigger chances - but the visitors were able to adjust to this in the second half. After that, neither side really created any dangerous opportunities.

The visitors show signs of life
Hercher receives the ball on the left and once again lays it off to Burcu behind him, but the finish is not accurate enough. More could have come from that.

At the other end, Hannover have been dangerous from corners and crosses. Everything is still open in the promotion race.

Kick-off!
Referee Braun gets the match underway in perfect weather and a fantastic atmosphere. Who will secure the crucial points in the promotion race?
Kick-off!
Kaars outscores all of Hannover
The Hannover starting eleven players today have scored a combined 13 goals this season – Kaars alone has 16 goals on the opposite side.
Centurion Kunze
Fabian Kunze is making his 100th appearance in the Bundesliga 2 today (his 85th for Hannover, 15 for Bielefeld).
This time it's only three changes
In the last match against Schalke, 96 coach Breitenreiter had made eight changes, which was a league-wide season record. This time there are 'only' three changes: Muroya plays on the right for Dehm after serving his yellow card suspension, Rochelt is rewarded for his substitute goal with a place in the starting eleven instead of Lee, and Nielsen replaces the absent Ngankam.
Magdeburg with their regular defence
For Magdeburg, Hercher and Heber come into the team for Loric and Müller. After manager Titz had to adjust his defence recently, he can now field his usual back three of Hugonet, Mathisen and Heber again.
And this is how Magdeburg starts
Reimann (c) - Hugonet, Mathisen, Heber - Gnaka - Hercher, Nollenberger - El-Zein - Burcu, Kaars, Atik
This is how Hannover lines up
Zieler (c) - Muroya, Knight, Neumann, Ezeh - Kunze, Leopold - Momuluh, Rochelt - Håvard Nielsen, Voglsammer

TOGETHER! Stop Hate. Be a Team.
Christian Titz on facing Hannover
"Hannover are a consistent team that haven't lost a match in the second half of the season and are really quick in their counter-attacking play. They're rightfully competing at the top of the league. I believe two teams will meet who absolutely want to win the match and will invest a great deal of effort in that."
What André Breitenreiter says
"They are leading in almost all offensive statistics. We are facing a very strong opponent. We are still unbeaten in the second half of the season. We can certainly expect a very exciting and interesting match. What's important is how we want to perform - with courage, heart, and tactical cleverness."
Perfect coaching record
André Breitenreiter has never lost against Magdeburg, either as a manager or as a player. As a coach, he's recorded two wins and one draw against them with Havelse in the Regionalliga between 2011 and 2012. As a player, he was part of a 5-0 victory (where he scored once) and a 0-0 draw with Holstein Kiel against Magdeburg in the Regionalliga in 2006/07.
Strong on the road
While both encounters in Hannover were close (2-1 and 1-2), the 96ers picked up three big wins in Magdeburg (4-0, 3-0, 3-0).
Bogey team
In the Bundesliga 2, Magdeburg have lost more often against Hannover (four times) than against any other team. Their only successful result against the Lower Saxony side was a 2-1 away victory in February 2023 with a numerical advantage, as Fabian Kunze received two yellow cards.
Clear-cut case
Hannover have won four of the five competitive matches against Magdeburg (all in the Bundesliga 2), celebrating three victories in a row against them recently.
