Full-time: Magdeburg 3-4 Nuremberg
Nuremberg clinched a dramatic injury-time win in this seven-goal thriller in Magdeburg on Matchday 21. Ondřej Karafiát had given the visitors an early lead (5'), before a goal from Robin Knoche (30', penalty) and an own-goal by Jean Hugonet (33') quickly followed Marcus Mathisen's temporary equaliser from a brilliant free-kick (27'). Although Martijn Kaars (72') and Hugonet (79') managed to level it at 3-3, Julian Justvan emerged as the match-winner in stoppage time (90+4').

Magdeburg's only home victory against Nürnberg came on the European stage, when they won 3-0 at home in the 1984 Intertoto Cup. The managers were Claus Kreul and Heinz Höher.
Magdeburg's home weakness
Magdeburg's two wins over Nuremberg in Bundesliga 2 have both come away from home. Their two home fixtures have produced just one point. Remember, Magdeburg haven't won a home game all season.
Revenge on the menu
Magdeburg's 4-0 win earlier this season is their biggest victory in Bundesliga 2 (together with a win at home to Bielefeld) and Nuremberg's heaviest defeat under Miroslav Klose. Three of the four goals were scored by substitutes, including former Nuremberg player Philipp Hercher, who played his first three second-tier matches for Nuremberg in 2016.
Great history
Magdeburg against Nuremberg is a clash between two great traditional clubs with trophy cabinets full to the brim. The Bavarians are nine-time champions and have won the DFB Cup four times, while Magdeburg claimed three league titles and seven cups in East Germany, as well as winning the European Cup Winners' Cup.
