A cross from Busch comes in from the right. It takes a huge deflection off Giannoulis and loops over Dahmen, who stood rooted to the spot. It strikes the inside of the post but bounces out and Augsburg manage to clear.

A real chance opens up for Heidenheim. Scienza is steaming down the left flank and he has options in the middle. He chooses to shoot, but his low effort is too tame to trouble Dahmen. His teammates were screaming for the ball on the far side.

A ball over the top finds the speedster. He brings it down well, moves the ball from his right foot to his left and attempts a shot under pressure, but it's wide of the mark.

Heidenheim's captain leads by example! A free-kick on the right comes in from deep for Heidenheim. The initial ball is headed clear, but only as far as Busch. Busch sends a frantic ball back in and Mainka manages to make contact, guiding the ball into the top-left corner from inside the box. All square again here!

Space opens up for the substitute Conteh down the right. He gets to the byline and cuts it back to Wanner on the edge of the box, who shoots first time with his left. Heidenheim win a corner, but they can't make anything of it.

The youngster marauds up the pitch unchallenged for Heidenheim. He reaches the edge of the box and has options but opts to shoot, his powerful effort forcing Dahmen to get down well to his left to push it away.

Krätzig swings it in with his left. This time, Wolf heads it clear from the near post.

Great move by Heidenheim! Kerber, Beck and Zivzivadze all combine down the right. Ultimately, Kerber plays Beck through on goal, but his effort is straight at Dahmen, who came rushing out to tighten the angle.

Banks heads a dangerous cross behind for a corner for the visitors. Krätzig takes an in-swinger from the right but it's well overhit and goes behind for a goal-kick.

Heidenheim have a counter-attack. Beck plays it left to Föhrenbach, who crosses into Zivzivadze. The Georgian is unmarked at the penalty spot and connects with the volley but he sends it over the bar. That was a real chance!

Kerber skilfully nutmegs Onyeka before being fouled just outside the Augsburg box on the right side. Krätzig and Wanner stand over it. Wanner dummies and continues his run and Krätzig plays it to him on the edge of the box. The Bayern loanee strikes first-time but it's off-target.

The midfielder picks the ball up on the left side of the edge of the Augsburg box. He moves it onto his right foot before shooting, but his low effort is too weak to trouble Dahmen and it's straight at him.

The striker is sent through on goal, shoulder to shoulder with Matsima. The Augsburg defender does just enough to shield the ball and Dahmen comes off his line to clear.

An attack for the hosts looks promising. Claude-Maurice picks it up on the edge of the box, seemingly gearing up for a shot, but he can't get it away due to a very physical but fair challenge on him from Mainka.

Krätzig combines well with Schöppner down the left, playing a one-two. Schöppner plays a low cross in, but again the hosts get it clear.

The first corner of the game goes the way of the visitors. It's swung in from the right, but Augsburg head it clear.
